Spurs (A) - Post-Match Thread

The powerhouse of world Football, Zimbabwe.

Mahrez is a bully, never produces in the big matches
one decent season for Leicester and despite some glimpses flatters to deceive

By and large our success has been achieved from recruiting players from foreign clubs with a few misses along the way of course.

No the team needs new tactics, football isn’t about fancy dans, it’s about pace and power, mixing it up, going long when you have to, we could start by buying a tall striker in January and changing it up abit.
Exactly but Pep will never go long so a plan b is not going to happen.

Unless the results start improving he will find out that the owners want tolerate standards below what they expect for their investment and when they act they act relatively quickly.

His friendship and association with the DOF and CEO will count for nought in the end and given they were no doubt driving forces in getting Pep to the club there tenure at least in part is tied to Pep's.
I hope your right, but from the outside , Pep has far too much control along with his mates.

He should be asked some very serious question about where this team is going, it's a long time since this team played well .

I am afraid you are correct sides have no fear playing us anymore not in the premiership at least none of them.

Not really sure if it is they have sussed us out or realise they don't have to over respect us home or away.

Pep is not infallible far from it and has continued that shocking record of ours when we trail at half time.

Sides " soaking up our possession game " and then in a matter of seconds the ball is the back of out net is a familiar tune and it has to end because we risk a more than embarrassing season if we continue down this flawed path.

Pep is much better than that and despite our many personnel and positional weaknesses so is our team.

He is being out thought and out coached by managers that will never have the advantages he has.

Our side almost on mass is just not buying into his MO any more.

I'm half cut so forgive any spelling errors!

A typical Jose performance against a top side. Soak up pressure and try a smash and grab. Its effective and worked.

Anyway, first half I thought you played quite well, but all in all, a lot of huff and puff without really testing Lloris at all.

Second half you were easily dealt with. It looked so toothless and bar that header (Jesus?) we never looked in any trouble.

Edersen seems to have god like status amongst the Bluemoon forum, but just like the champions league he could have easily prevented them two goals.

Laporte made a huge error wanting to duel with Kane, he dragged him out of position for the first goal and basically couldn't deal with him afterwards, without Kane really trying at all.

Walker got some pelters I noticed, but the amount of times he recovered and won the ball back was impressive.

Torres actually looked good, but went off the boil after half hour.

I couldn't believe it went Kane went on a run (with the ball) and he looked like lightning, which is shocking because he's lost so much pace, then I realised it was Rodri chasing him. Either he's carrying an injury or he has cement in his boots

It makes me wonder if Pep had made the first move for the subs it could have been a different result.

The best I've seen a City team play against us was the 5-1 with Mancini, you absolutely blew us away, I've never been so impressed with a performance like that. But today was the worst I've seen you play against us in years. Yes, you've had off days in the past, but without really testing our goalie at all is worrying for you guys.

Either everyone is getting better or you're regressing badly.

Apologies if I come across as a ****, but all in all I am one!!!!

More the latter I would suggest no side is out of game with us these days.

Poor transfer activity has well and truly caught up with us.

The old guard are consigned to history the replacements are not buying into Pep's MO and Pep has gone right off the boil and like the side is easy to combat on match days.

Hopefully this is as bad as it gets as bad as it is.

Formulaic, boring to watch and opposite issue to last season. I don't know what the answer to this is but I hope pep can sort it before we fall too far behind. We can't get through packed defences and play so high we always get stung on the counter. Painful to watch now as we know it's coming if we don't score first. Even then...

I hope pep can sort it !!!!!!!!!!! How many times I read this sentence? While it is obvious that Pep failed so far to solve it. because he prefers players who can pass the ball over players who are technically good for their position, he does not control the plyers anymore, although he knows the problem as he himself mentioned after the game but he could not offer the solution, at least not yet. That is why we have been struggling since last year. one dimensional game plan without any alternatives, and poor recruitment, and do not have the ability to change.
