Spurs (A) | Post-Match Thread

They all played as if someone showed them Grealish's wage slip!

I can't believe how often Pep throws away important match's with his team selection. He did it last season against Chelsea, picked a weak team when we needed to look strong. Allowed them the victory, which must have an effect on team moral.

This loss is on Pep. he also waited far too long the make the changes.
Totally pissed off with this result.

Called it prematch, we're playing catch-up on rags, chavs and dippers now!

This bad form and lack of goals is more than a mini slump now, why have we gone into the season without a striker!

So angry and frustrated!

Silver lining. KDB looks prime KDB in that 15 minutes. Beautiful passes and a good attempt on goal. Other than that,

I thought Sterling and Grealish were too cautious. I trust them to grow better into the season.

Mendy is Mendy. The few games he’s played, at the price we paid, I would expect him to be several levels above Clichy. But I would take Clichy and Zinchenko any day over Mendy.

Ake. Posted in his performances thread. My personal opinion, he’s one of our worst signings. Championship level.

Utter shite, boring to watch. We looked toothless going forward. I'm sick of us playing without a recognised striker, and this false nine b/s. Even when Jesus is brought on, he is played out of position! Where was the passion, some of the players were strolling around the pitch like they had all the time in the world, and didn't look bothered, especially Mendy, and Torres was anonymous.

Guardiola stunk the fucking place out again today with his team tactics, selection and his unwillingness to change it. I genuinely hope it is his last season here as what we now are regularly served up has become unwatchable.
At no stage did the siege of the spurs goal ever materialise just the slow boring shite with zero end product.
He can winge all he wants about no pre season. Every other club is in the same boat. He has assembled far too many weak players both physically and mentally.

It was poor. The whole side looked devoid of sharpness and we need to hope that other teams don't pull too far away in the early stages because our run last season is very unlikely to be repeated. It is obvious that Mendy had a very poor game and was personally responsible for several counter attacks. Those attacking Torres are deluded: his movement and control was excellent but there was little creativity and Gundogan, especially, offered very little which is unlike him. Playing deep and counter attacking is much easier than the way we play and Spurs did it quite well, if not as well as Martin Tyler is convinced of. Imbecilic quote of the match - 'Back to back 1-0 defeats in the Grealish era.'; what an utter tool.

Called the result after 10 minutes. So far on top, could have scored 4, should have scored at least 2, but not one effort on target. I know we have new, softer interpretations, but having seen the foul given one Grealish, we have liked var to check factually where it was. God knows how Nevilles man of the match wasn’t booked in that first period. Anyway having failed to press home our advantage, it was only a matter of time before Son scored on the counter, does Mendy get an assist for that? Think we all know we need a consistent reliable goal scorer??????????
