Spurs (A) | Post-Match Thread

Torres is a striker, and strikers need service. There was a point in the first half, he made the perfect strikers run and cancelo (who is garbage and has been since he joined) saw him and thought "nah". That's either Cancelos or Peps fault but it's not Torres's's's's
I don’t think people watch him unless the ball gets to him. He made amazing runs that split the defense. Unfortunately we always went to the left side. If we played some in the middle he might have got a few passes. Even when the ball was on his side mahrez instead of releasing him would cut inside. Not much you can do if you don’t get service.

He is a wide player converted into a 9 which never seems to work

Ake has literally cost us a goal a game since he signed. This is fucking disastrous and how Pep thinks it's okay to play him next to Mendy is beyond me. I mean we employ statisticians and sports scientists that can tell him how many games we lost or conceded goals in when the pair played together.

A bizarre game. Levy clearly asked for 3 points as part of the sale.

Convenient excuse. I posted on the matchday thread I'd take a point.

The sad thing is you know how the game is going to play out after the first 20 mins when we miss 2 easy chances.

It was like a recording of the 3 previous games against Spurs and the 3 losses to Chelsea last season.
It's frustrating, I just think it'll take a few weeks.

A few more games, after the international break, we'll have a fit KDB, Foden, Stones, Walker, Zin, Laporte, etc. Grealish will have more than a week in the system to get his feet wet. Kane will (hopefully) be here. It's just going to take some time.

I do agree it's worrying that Spurs and Chelsea (at least under Tuechel) have figured us out. I fucking hate Spurs.

Fair enough, I was trying to make a point that he wasn't in my starting 11. He was gash last year though and that's not nonsense.
True. But even last season he had some brilliant performances. Liverpool away springs to mind. Spurs at home too.
