We aren’t anything close to being the best team in the world. You could argue we were two seasons ago, but right now, no.
We are very close. But it also shows that current level of all teams are poor.

Only Bayern better than us at this moment in time. Liverpool equal.

On paper we have the best squad in the world, which is bizarre as its our worst squad in 10 years. Again it shows the level is poor currently in the game.

The best 3 clubs in the world currently are: City, Bayern and Liverpool.

Make no mistake about Spurs next set of PL fixtures:

City home
Chelsea away
Arsenal home
Palace away
Pool away
Leicester home
Wolves away

this is within 21/11/2020 and 26/12/2020, 35 days period basically and this is a killer one.
And 3 more Thursday EL games and Carabao game in same period on top of above PL run.

Mourinho will either will be found out here big time, or they go on an immense run vs close rivals and will be top of the league at Boxing day. Fuck if they top of the league that time after these fixture list we might start to worry of them actually being top2 in the end as well.
But from a maximum 21 points to gain here, they will not get more than 12 imo, there will be 2-3 draws, and 1-2 losses in there in theory.

We really should make them to start this run of fixtures with a loss just some put some extra pressure on their next two big London derbies vs Chelsea&Arsenal.

What an easy start does do though is that it can create a great self belief and motivation in a group of players that may not be there should results be not so great in the opening set of fixtures. Spurs have a tough set of fixtures coming up but that belief they will have gained from their opening matches will stand to them, at least in the first 2 or 3 matches against top opposition coming up. I wish we were playing them after they were battered a bit instead of us being the ones being asked to strike the first blow.

Agreed to the benefit of a good start but lots of teams have gradually built form and momentum over a few months. Our players are slowly coming back and hopefully we can add 1or 2 names in jan.

I agree, and it looks increasingly like this is a season where we are turning back the clock 4/5 seasons, where the race is much closer at the top, and you don't have 1 or 2 teams running away in front. Remember in those olden days, you'd want to be in the race at Christmas - and even at Easter. Hopefully, our run of great form, and consistent wins, is just round the corner. A solid pair of centre halves gives us something to build on for the coming months.
