If that's Lewis/walker left back and right back with ake and akanji central that's fine, anythiing else and it's a shitshow waiting to happen.

Foot injury. From many accounts that he sustained in training, on purpose, in a bad challenge from Cancelo.

He has returned to training this week though.
Foot injuries are horrible for footballers.. I’m waiting on my Mri scan results for mine.. still swelling but good movement. Hope young Fodens ain’t as bad as mine

The BBC has Alvarez in defensive midfield with Lewis. Am I missing something?

I think the people who create the BBC graphics actually have no interest in football. I’ve seen this happen a few times and then get corrected.

Either that or Pep is trying one of his party tricks

Hope not as going by his game there vs Southampton.. he might cut it in that position in League 2

Can see this being like the Chelsea away game when Pep had to admit his mistake and change back to our normal formation and player positions. Hope I’m wrong though

Everyone and their mother knows Dias and Laporte are better in almost every way compared to Ake and Akanji. It's clear that there's been a lot going on behind the scenes if Pep prefers them in a big game like this.
Laporte isn't better than Ake with technicalability his passing range or in the air, he is betrer than Akanji though

Dias I agree strange he isn't getting a look in, but put it down to lack of match fitness

Is this a statement that Dias can't play in this formation/strategy? He can't get in the side at all. Walker isn't a RCB - he isn't good enough in that role when we revert to 442 in defence.

Ah well, hope it works out
