What's the point of having Dias and Laporte?

Well we have to assume they’ve eased off in some way. Kev too. Pep is fighting a malaise in the squad and he won’t accept defeat in this battle.

What's the point of having Dias and Laporte?

Laporte had an operation and has only started four Prem games all season, so he’s not going to be thrown into this one.

Dias has just had a set back after coming back from injury, so he’s not going to be thrown into this one.

I wonder if Foden was down to play and his illness had meant Alvarez/Grealish coming in at the last minute. Perhaps one of them will be in a number ten role? Still can’t make sense of it. I can’t see us keeping the ball like we normally do in midfield with no KDB or Gundo.
