That was his first game back. And Pep probably wants to nurse him along. Kovacic-Gundo midfield inbound.
I just don't think I can handle seeing that duo named again.

I'd be looking at Gonzalez and Silva but I think he'll rest the former now.

Swap Nunes for Rico and Foden for Kova

Hopefully Erl starts

Eddie

Gvardiol
Khush
Dias
Nunes

Nico
Kova

Sav Moush Doku

Haaland
atthis point im suprised people are picking Nunes.....rico aint the best BUT Nunes just does not have the technical ability to play in a Pep team in any position...

9 day's ago this looked like a win,

Now Spuds are on a run of 3 wins and we've had 2 demoralising defeats.

Is Grealish fit to play? Just had a glance at FFL & no injury flagged up, and if Pep has been asked about him in a presser recently, I must have missed it.

Edit. Or is he being “saved” for Argyle?

Yeh we've played madrid twice and liverpool they've played dog and duck !..
I reckon we win this.
I don't care who they are, Madrid only made the play offs as we did, Dippers are not great and have been fortunate in the PL recently.

After our performance against Newcastle we had every right to expect a little bit more.

Admittedly losing Haaland was a huge blow.

I'll be gutted if we don't win this, be right back to square one.

That's a big statement .…. And tbh,I've not seen enough of City with Nunes in the team to argue against it,.
But that's a big statement Simon.

This is what I would play vs Spurs, fitness permitting.

Ederson
Lewis Khusanov Dias Gvardiol
Nico Nunes
Savinho Marmoush Doku
Haaland
making this shape in build-up/possession:

Ederson

Khusanov --- Dias ---

---- Lewis ----- Nico ----- Gvardiol

Savinho ----------------------- Nunes ------------------------ Doku

---- Haaland ------ Marmoush

I'm not sure he's finished his CL win bender yet.

We simply can’t afford to risk starting all of Dias/Ake/Khusanov in the same line up now. We don’t have the options to cover for injuries.
If results go against us tonight we could drop 3 places in the table, that is what starts to limit options.

Madrid started badly and ended well in the CL group and they’re top in Spain.
