Spurs (H) 2nd Leg - Post Match Thread

I'd tip him off, mate.

Hope he recovers well :)

That’s not even difficult mate. Tell the poor bloke not to watch it!

But you can’t pull the pain from football and just hold onto the joy. And you know that.

He’s my advice, text him the following “dad, I love you but I can’t let you go through that knowing what I know. City lose. But they lose with a win and with loads of pride. Every neutral is talking about that as one of the best CL ties of all time. If you can control your emotions then watch it. If not, just google the result and hold off for Saturday.”

My honest reaction at various points tonight was; how many more years of this am I going to put myself through?

I reckon you've got to give him some sort of clue that somethings up with that game.

Something along the lines of; 'If you want to watch it whilst recovering - who am I to say don't, but it's one of the most intense games with more goals and twists than you'll ever see again. And I'm not talking about what happens in the first half!'

Honestly mate I’d tell him. I went fucking mental when that goal went in and was so deflated like never before when it was disallowed. I think you know what you plan to do already.

Cheers gents

Still feeling stunned, what a fucking roller coaster. Incredible game and first round lost us ..,oh yeah Laporte giving it to Son didn’t help either. Many factors

In a similar predicament as an above poster. Brother in Vancouver in work has recorded the match and is watching it later this evening. Tempted to just tell him what's happened as I feel sick thinking about him reliving it! Suggestions?

NO ONE TO BLAME BUT OURSELVES.
I nearly smashed up my new OLED tv after cnut boy Lineker trying to justify Lorente goal, “his skin moves”
Camel gob trying call the fool out on it, saying ‘ it’s hit his arm before his hip, therefore it’s handball’
Lineker being a total bell end trying to shut it down.
We gave them the game. 2 stupid goals , they never really created anything.
Still seething at our Typical City performance. We haven’t learned ANYTHING.
We MUST destroy these cnuts Saturday and show them what we are really about.

They’ll get their arses handed to them by Ajax, who were great v Juve.

Bitterly disappointed. On balance, we deserved to go through. We were simply the better team today and last week. Our players gave everything. Even when it appeared the tie was over within the first ten minutes we battled on. Once again we found luck not to be on our side.

I have to say though that we are not solid enough to win the Champions League. Even if we had gone through, we’d see the same defensive flaws brutality exploited by the opposition in the later stages. You simply cannot gift the opposition two goals in the first ten minutes at this level.

Always thought that the Champions League was going to be step too far this season. We can still go on to have a phenomenal year by picking up the domestic treble. We need to put this behind us and make sure we punish them on Saturday.

Spot on. We were the better team, we made two hugely uncharacteristic errors. Mendy is showing signs that he can be a big player if he can maintain his fitness. Walker was outstanding tonight.

Sad to say it but Dave was peripheral to things again. I would never write him off but I think Bernardo needs to be the first choice at the moment , and Sane has to start out wide.

Injuries and trying to manage such a heavy schedule have beaten us.

One MASSIVE positive - the Ginger Prince has shown everybody that he is still THE ****ING MAN. Just a pity he’ll probably not be able to start at the weekend.

If Fernandinho had started tonight there’s no way they would’ve scored three goals, not a chance, end of. Pep cocked up again. Over thinking is his downfall.

Fuck you too. You think that hurts me or anything. Do you realize what this will do to the players mentally? We are not there mentally to begin with just watch what happens. I hope
To god I am wrong but don’t think so
That’s a load of bollocks mate because if you have anything about you, you go balls out for revenge.
There’s plenty of character in this squad and I fully expect a bag full on Saturday.

Pep fucked up with the team selection in the first leg. Hopefully this will motivate us even more in the league. I would rather die than seeing these disgusting dippers win it

I’m in Montreal and just had to watch it with two “spurs” fans so I’m well fucking happy even better though a so called Arsenal fan was cheering spurs on...I’m fuming absolutely fucking fuming.

On my way back on a very quiet 263 bus, decided to give the tram a miss. Gutted and absolutely drained. If we had attacked like that in the first leg we'd have gone through. Shocking defending by both teams in truth.
