I'm going on like a broken record the last few months about how important it is to have John Stones fit.

The system Pep has us in now is a system that needs a man alongside Rodri to dicate a game of football and thar man is John Stones. Stones is able to stop teams counter attacking us along with joining in on the attacking side of things and we get the best of both worlds along with Rodri being able to do his job. When Stones is missing it looks like a one man midfield with Rodri being over ran.

When Stones is missing we need to make changes tactically because it's simply not working and it makes things harder when we have Alvarez playing too instead of a proper midfield player which means Rodri and the back four suffer with overloads.

We need a solution and fast.

That’s the least professional performance I’ve seen for a long, long time. Spurs were dogshit and should have been dead and buried after 25 minutes.

Just hope it doesn’t prove too costly at the end of the season.

With our defence currently. We look fucking spent. Gvardiol is actually shit, Ake super form 2 years has fucked off, Dias looks like he decided to become Maguire, Stones is injured, Walker thinks captain means you don't play anymore. We are utterly fucked

He did play advantage! Saw jack was through on goal then blew!

He's right though, We should have killed the game off in the first 25 minutes whilst we had them on the ropes.

We should have comfortably won that game.

That has to be one of the worst refereeing mistakes I've seen at the end though. I can only assume he thought Grealish was offside when he blew for the foul.

Ange did say after the game that they were lucky, and we should have been out of sight by half time. We hit the post twice and our Viking missed two chances that he should have dispatched. If any of those go in, we’d by talking about a different game.

Having said that, I’d play Akanji at right back against Villa and drop Walker. It’s going to be a backs to the wall job without RodrI, and the formula that we had last season with the 4 centre backs in defence worked well for us. I also think Rico has to start. We need his bustling energy.

Absolutely but that’s my point, the early season form or pts amassed is clouding judgement for me; the groove and pts packing will come again in the same guise, which is when we put the fear of god into our competitors…
