Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I'm also really disappointed that City didn't win.
But what does everyone think would have been a "fair score" for the 2nd half ?
City dominated and generally controlled the first half.
Don't think that was the case in the 2nd half.
Spurs passing and close control was excellent.
It was an exciting, entertaining game. City, as usual, played an attacking game.
What was refreshing was that Spurs went toe-to-toe. Very, very few teams have done that at the Ethiad, especially under Pep ?
Spurs players did go down very easily, but would rather watch them than almost any other Premier League team, perhaps BHA as well...

To get back to our best, we probably need:

- Stones & KDB back & firing
- some cover for Rodri
- Gomez & Phillips shipped out & replaced with better quality
- one or two more bodies in the squad; our bench looks weak
- and this sounds harsh given how many goals he scores, but: Haaland to sharpen up.

It’s hard to explain. Did Hooper change his mind in a split second? Or did he get a shout in his ear?

We should be pushing this more. The scousers would be kicking up hell now with that decision. The manager, team and fans deserve to know why he did what he did.

Most would agree it was our own fault we didn't have this stitched up by half time . To me the more worrying aspect is ,how the ref ,in a moment of panic ,his instinct is to go against City, as that will be the line of least trouble.

Three draws and we got through by the skin of our teeth against a team that we'd dismantled in previous seasons. With each game the front four are gaining experience but they're also burning out and that will likely have consequences later in the season.

Don't normally like buying in the winter window, but I'm fed up looking at a bench of multiple goalkeepers, injured players that are never coming on, and two players that have zero future at the club. Get the last two out in the window and buy two experienced pros (left back and forward) who fancy an unexpected crack at a medal in the twilight of their careers.
'Multiple goalkeepers and injured players that are never coming on' - couldn't agree more.

Should have been 3-1 up at h/t and could have been 5 or 6-1.
Spurs 1st goal from our corner was very poor. Foden shit out of a challenge on edge of box and Doku did exactly same as he did previously v West Ham, nothing! Erling had a shocker as did Alvarez, Bernardo and Phil was a bit off too.
Our central defence again was all over the place. Not being able to see a game out has cost us 8 points so far. Late goals are too commonplace now and is alarming. Below are points dropped due to late goals, where previously we’d see the game out.
1 v Wolves
1 v Arsenal
2 v Chelsea
2 v Liverpool
2 v Spurs
Why is Doku being given that job though? Son is one of the best strikers in the Prem. We were six minutes into the game and we have no one with any defensive ability watching Son. Is this not discussed as a possible risk if we lose the ball?

When do we ever score from corners anyway? We would be better taking short ones and building up with the defenders staying deeper or at least two of them.

Son v Doku is only going to end one way.

Too many weekends are Mike Tyson vs Buster Douglas atm. Need to sort it soon. This could become the worst Pep team ever apart from his first season.
