I think fundamentally as fans we have been spoilt rotten over Pep’s reign - this is probably the worst team he’s been able to put out. In the sense of lack of world class recruitment and an aging player base.
I think the problem currently is the lack of rhythm and partnerships. The players aren’t clicking and don’t particularly compliment each other.
For example if you put Rico next to Rodri and prime kdb he would look world class. Sadly an aging Gundo and a limited impact Silva just makes his weaknesses seem even more obvious.
Pep won’t throw his senior players under the bus and player the likes of O’Riley and Wright as they haven’t earned his trust yet.
During the good and the very rare bad Pep has always been very head strong.
Let’s ride this out and see how good Liverpool actually are. If they are better than us so be it, we’ve won 4 on the bounce so it’s bound to happen a slight drop off.
