There’s a lack of effort currently for me. The ats what’s annoyingI think fundamentally as fans we have been spoilt rotten over Pep’s reign - this is probably the worst team he’s been able to put out. In the sense of lack of world class recruitment and an aging player base.
I think the problem currently is the lack of rhythm and partnerships. The players aren’t clicking and don’t particularly compliment each other.
For example if you put Rico next to Rodri and prime kdb he would look world class. Sadly an aging Gundo and a limited impact Silva just makes his weaknesses seem even more obvious.
Pep won’t throw his senior players under the bus and player the likes of O’Riley and Wright as they haven’t earned his trust yet.
During the good and the very rare bad Pep has always been very head strong.
Let’s ride this out and see how good Liverpool actually are. If they are better than us so be it, we’ve won 4 on the bounce so it’s bound to happen a slight drop off.

ive said elsewhere we couldnt do worse than throw OReilly in there.....but I just dont think he wants to put that pressure on the kid....or maybe he aint ready....Disagree. He started 3 midget midfielders who don't win duels, can't win headers and lack the athleticism to track back. We have players who can do those aspects. He could start Reilly & Gundo or Nunes & Bernardo to find a mix of ball winner and passer.

Just had a look at the last 3 games. We’ve had 58 shots to the oppositions 28. Somehow we’ve lost those 3 games 10-2 overall.
It is inescapable that one key injury has seen us collapse, and for all that we laud Txixi, Ferran etc. that is not good squad management. That said, a few here need to get a grip. We are not entitled to win anything, we need to build again and see where we go.I’d argue it’s on Txiki. Or at least the recruitment in general as opposed to blaming it on one guy. The signings have been criminally poor in central midfield which is the most important area of a Pep side.
