Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

So weak, physically and mentally - start well, first goal goes then we collapse, don’t win any 50/50s, lose discipline, passing goes completely awry, just awful.
This will take 6 months to fix

The match day thread was a joy to behold.

I’m not sure what exactly I’ve just watched, but Pep watched it too, and now he has to earn his corn.

He has to cone up with a way to blend an ageing but still very talented squad.

No idea how he’s going to do that because we look shot, but I’m prepared to bet we will be there or thereabouts end of season, the man’s a genius.

As a wise man said earlier, this run and we are still second.

Long way to go blues
Pep’s been watching this for the last 5 weeks

Love this forum. Absolute wet lettuces who know nothing other than being spoilt

For the empty heads, this is football. Sometimes you go through a major slump, the same ones you all enjoy other clubs’ demise when they’re going through it.

We WILL be champions come May.

And then you can all take your faces for a massive dump an apologise.
Oh sod off Haratio. Just touchstone sayings.

You need a reality check.

Apologies, but this fall off is ridiculous and it hurts. Yes we've been shit before but having been as good as we were, it makes it worse.

The spoilt, entitled shit is so unanalytical and tiresome.

Well, what a horrible watch that was.
We had a lot of chances, but Tottenham took nearly all of theirs and we were profligate in front of goal.

We are in a transitional period - and the heavy losses of key players to long-term injury have really made that transition difficult. It is an unfortunate truth that we have several players at the end of their amazing careers with us: Gundo, Kev, Walker and, probably, Bernardo cannot cope with young, athletic opponents. It was never their game (Walker apart) and now we are being continually overrun. This year we have had a horrible injury list - Rodri, Bobb, Kev, Phil, Stones, Jack, Doku, Ake, Walker, and others have all been out for decent periods and our squad has not shown enough depth to cope with that. We have a lot of quality, and youth, but losing so many at once has really been damaging. We also have to consider that many of this team are simply not used to being run over, and the tactics we have employed to bring such success are now looking vulnerable, especially without Rodri's presence to sweep things up.

What would I do - we MUST have some legs in midfield. This, at the moment, is Nunes.
We cannot continue to play Walker, IMO. He is yards short and appears to be offering nothing offensively.
I would probably be playing Jack, Nunes, and Kovacic (when he returns) in the centre.
I would play Rico/Akanji at R/B

The return of Jack, Stones and Ake are most welcome, but it is midfield where we are continually being cut through and it is making the defence look woeful, and it is also without Dias who is a very solid defender.

We can look forward to seeing peps next generation of team because without doubt this one is finished sadly, we are too predictable all over the pitch.
Always said we can't win the league every season as is evident to all.
Shit weekend now
Yours very sad blue.

Could have been anyone today that would have thumped us…(but had to be spurs they will lose to some bottom half team next time out) been the same last 5 games so easy to counter against now especially if we don’t score first! Which we very rarely do! I mean Fulham and Southampton were iffy also! You simply can’t start that midfield again! We need to let teams sometimes have the ball and defend deeper and counter back I would even start with a back 5 next week and let stones drift into midfield in possession we can’t keep being this open!!!!
