Limp to January and then somehow find a fucking midfield until Rodri’s fit.

Walker, Stones, Rico & Gundo shouldn’t be starting.
Agreeon Rico and Gundo

That means walker has to start....we just need to adapt how we play him....we cant expect him to bomb up and down..he cant do it anymore. ....sit him deeper and he will be ok.

Stones has always been made of glass which is a shame as he is quality.

Rodri as the ongoing excuse is not cutting it anymore.

He clearly masked alot of issues that were slowly tearing at the seams.

No leader on the pitch. Not enough quality in midfield. Haaland seems to be sleep walking again. Rico's honeymoon is over. Gundo should have stayed in Spain.

Thing is, perfection never lasts in sport... EVER.

We have witnessed and relished in the greatest era of all time in this club's history... A level of play 20 years ago and before no one would have ever sanely imagined.

As relatively horrible as the last month has been we're 2nd in the league though I'm not naive or ridiculous enough to think this particular squad has a miracle in them.

Will be interesting to see how we regroup, how we move forward. If we are cleared... an overhaul is in order. We need to let go of aging heroes and make smart moves that set us up for a new era... Not sure if we're 11+ points off the top in January we throw tons of cash about for what would be bandages to cover open wounds.

It sucks, but in the back of all of anyone's mind not with permanently affixed blue specs or with a standing prescription for thorazine... It's been coming.

Defensively and in midfield we are currently all over the place. Gundogan has gone, I'm very grateful for his efforts in past seasons but he is offering very little at the moment. As tor Rico he needs some time out from the first team as he is clearly struggling.

This was a spurs side off the back of a defeat at home to Ipswich and with both centre halves missing.

Shambles of a performance from back to front, not one single positive whatsoever.

Fuck knows how were still second but we won't be for much longer, top 4 would be like winning the league if we manage it playing like we are.

Gundo, Bernardo and Rico were all invisible once again. Hard to put into words how bad our midfield has been this season
All three were very visible, giving the ball away and starting spuds counters. Specially Rico, too lightweight and dallying and turning too long.

But, can we relearn how to mark, how to defend?

Getting worse. Liverpool is gonna be horrific. Nothing about this team atm, looked outnumbered all over the field and they had a makeshift back 4. Piss poor that this team has fuck all goals in it, when haaland isn't firing. Huge changes needed in summer and in this showing its gonna take a few windows. The lack of subs is really starting to piss me off, the kids can't do any worse, can they??

I think the team is fucked. Struggling to find any positives.

I’d have taken off the entire midfield-utter wank the lot of them.

Most during the international break were talking about playing Liverpool, and all i kept saying to myself, hang on, we've got the spuds first. Let's see if we can navigate our bogey team first

That was like watching a city legends team in a testimonial, unfortunately the team we were playing came for a premier league game.
The clues were there last season,
Yep looked like some of them should be playing masters 5 a side.

Some thoughts:
1. Injuries to our squad should not be discounted. We are seriously depleted, and it's going to effect our play.
2. Rodri is the best player in the world. See point number 1.
3. Haaland is amazing, but would do better in a system that allowed for a little more freedom of movement. It's hard for him when most of our offense is in the final third of the pitch. That sort of play does not go well with his skills.
4. What the hell is wrong with Phil? He's a shell of what he was last season. I hate to say it, but management might want to think about selling him while the pounds are there.
5. We need a centre back. Maybe 2.
6. Gundo is done. Love him, but he's done.
7. Savinho is quite good, and he almost has it, but doesn't yet.

I think this team is goosed both physically and mentally. They've had loads of big games and given everything over the last few years. The risk is that Pep may be flogging a dead horse this season. That's what it looks like right now. Recent transfer business now looks poor in hindsight too. Easy to say. There's always a risk when bringing in new players. When a team's been at the very top for so long it is normal to see a drop off. This is it. Only Pep will know whether things can be salvaged. Right now top 4 needs to be the focus and anything else is a bonus. Come on City.

Just had my 18 year old son telling me that losing 5 in a row is far worse than when we got relegated down to league 1 because he is so used to us winning. ....maybe our current run will make some of our 'newer' fans a little more grateful for our successes and a little more respectful of all our years of loyal support when we really were shit.
