Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

He pissed me off before the game with how he loves to play against us, Most seasons they beat us unfortunately but we still lift trophies whilst himself and Tottenham are doing sweet fuck all.

We had the opportunity to ram his words down his throat on Saturdays evening and we didn't, Now he's mouthing off again. Hopefully the players take his words on board for the next time we meet and hopefully we are in form to shut the fucker up.
He does seem to be our kryptonite, we should buy him to negate this

I take solace in the fact that spuds and their shitty fans continue to aspire to be everything we are. However, that was a woeful showing from us on Saturday evening against them. No more of that nonsense please City.

I hate this hunchbacked nobhead.
Like you say he's a gobby little twat. What's he won?

His footballing CV looks great.
Won sod all but played 4 times against Man City and played great.

Little ginger tosser.

Where were they then? Only leaders we have are Rodri , Kev and Dias. 1 goal from spurs heads dropped we looked panicked. We have a captain that isn’t a captain and would rather do interviews than lead on the pitch.
Won a league few months ago.

Don’t see any other team in the league doing that with their leaders. More to the point not 1 team has lifted the league in over 4 seasons apart from city. We still have the same players but for injuries and age which is sometimes not avoidable.

Some need replaced but all should have our respect.

Yeah but in the 18 months prior they won a treble and a 4th title on the spin. Whilst O don't doubt it that it might be in the back of their minds, does that mean Walker can't run anymore? Does that mean Gundog has been awful since returning, does that mean we play as we do without Rodri? It is a combination of things and our charges I would imagine is a very small percentage of the problem.
I don't disagree that your points are valid. What I am saying is that it is the cumulative effect of this thing that could be having an impact which adds to those that you mention.

The players will not give a shit as long as they're getting paid. I'm sure their contracts cover the doomsday scenario anyway.

This is just a season too far for us. We've not been bold enough in the transfer window, we've looked to bolster the squad and add players to the core from years gone by rather than inject proven quality to give them a challenge and keep the hunger going. But after 4 years of dominance, with a World Cup during one season and a Euro's last summer and a CWC tucked in as well they've shown incredible hunger and effort to achieve what they have.

It's a year too many and perhaps we should have anticipated it better, but we're not that far away from being the best again. A RB, a DM, a CM and another FWD and we're in excellent shape.
I don't disagree. What I am saying is that this continous negativity and suggestive commentary that our achievements are somewhat tainted must impact proud professions in some way. I am certain that if we are cleared in Jan/Feb or whenever this will have am immediate positive impact on performance. We will of course have to undertake a significant rebuild with what you suggest as a minimum.

Could be, nobody knows for sure but what we do know is it hadn't hampered us at any other stage. The best manager in the world committing himself to us, us beating the prem in court, positive whispers around the 115. It is as rosy as it has looked for a while in that respect I would say. Either way whatever the reason, lets hope it changes

I like the sound of this. Hopefully everybody is fit enough at some point so we can have that defensive stability. Just shows how good Rodri actually is that Pep was planning on playing both Stones and Akanji there in his spot.

Had plenty service yesterday just couldn’t finish. He does when running to goal but doesn’t find space in a busy box to get tap ins like Sergio was so good at as he rarely gets in front of the defender.
Yeah your so right his strength is running towards goal and it's great to watch but sadly more extinct than the dodo bird.

That was beyond belief. Not as bad as the three one on ones he missed in the first half against the rags though which would have put us 5-0 up at halftime and won us the title. Still we only had to wait another week.
Sterling was a great buy for us though as his stats prove.
I raise you, Lyon in the champions league.

Of that list? Players who make a top City starting 11 for 25/26 season

Ederson
New RB Akanji Dias Gvardiol
Rodri
New Elite CM Foden
KDB Haaland New Left Wing

We have huge gaps in the starting 11 not only the squad
right now i dont think left wing is priority. Grealish should recover his form (he is going nowhere on that salary), Doku plays there as can Nunes and Foden as back up.

Pep said he ain't changing the system as he believes in it so it's gonna get messy. I don't get it surely tighten up, bin the slow tippy tappy bollocks, ball in to Harland from midfield that he can run on to as defenders hate that but he won't change. I know Erling is off but I imagine he is pissed with the non existing service.
Haaland gets that ball when there is space in behind. How often do teams give us space to play that ball. However, against spurs we had chances to get in behind their defence but no Kev to deliver them.
