It was fucking criminal abysmal defending. He is watching their player running through and has nothing else to worry about other than Johnson. Unforgivable.Lewis went to sleep really for the first. The Spurs winger was a good few yards behind him when Stones slipped yet got there well ahead of Lewis (who also went with the wrong foot IMO). He needs to be more aware of where his man is.
yes very visible how Johnson sprinting to receive thee ball and imo Rico not having defensive instinct doesnt realize the whole situation that he needs to try to block any cross coming in and find a Spurs player. while first instinct of Johnson to get into the box quickly as a cross might come.Lewis went to sleep really for the first. The Spurs winger was a good few yards behind him when Stones slipped yet got there well ahead of Lewis (who also went with the wrong foot IMO). He needs to be more aware of where his man is.
He looked like he was running in treacle after only 10 mins on the pitch. Sad to see.Bernardo on the wing after Bobb going off. We really fuckin ourselves on purpose, eh? Our right side is getting more horrible again
Yep, player awareness has often been his problem .... and not only in this match either!Lewis went to sleep really for the first. The Spurs winger was a good few yards behind him when Stones slipped yet got there well ahead of Lewis (who also went with the wrong foot IMO). He needs to be more aware of where his man is.
Apart from Porro.. and that’s debatable.. there isn’t 1 player in spurs starting 11 that would get in our starting 11
Yet they looked so much better as a team
Not sure what to take from that
Van Der Ven gets into our side easilyApart from Porro.. and that’s debatable.. there isn’t 1 player in spurs starting 11 that would get in our starting 11

Micah doesn't and never did know whats going on around him so I would take that observation with a pinch of salt.City were the pariah of European football. The G14, UEFA & the Sky 4 plus Spuds were gunning for us. City didn't want the additional adverse publicity of ditching Mancini after the Agueroooooooo moment, but the players knew what was happening behind the scenes & Hart in particular took the piss.
Micah Richards has publicly said the rumours of Mancini losing the dressing room was greatly exaggerated, which lined up with what I was told at the time.
The club was a growing mess behind the scenes, especially with Garry Cooke being flirted & us having an interim CEO whilst waiting on Soriano to sort out the SpanAir mess he was embroiled in, prior to arriving at City with Txiki following shortly after.
Guardiola was supposed to arrive at that point too, to reunite the triumvirate behind Barça's successful period, but City decided to put off sacking Mancini for a season, hence Guardiola not wanting to wait & taking up the offer to manage Bayern.
It wasn't our finest period, & we only began to fully settle when Guardiola arrived for the 2015/16 season.
I agree Bobb was probably our best player and certainly the best winger we have. It might be a case of managing his minutes thoughBernardo on the wing after Bobb going off. We really fuckin ourselves on purpose, eh? Our right side is getting more horrible again
I've been saying for years that Franks would do an effective job at a bigger club, or one with better players than he had at Brentford, and I was only surprised that a club like Everton hadn't moved for him, he would have probably have kicked some backsides there and sorted them out ..... he's a likeable guy, and he really knows his stuff, a good manager, and Tottenham have made a smart move in bringing him to their club.
Take a look at these highlights – the first three shots, before there was even any real threat to our goal from their side, all came from Marmoush. Out of those three efforts, we easily could’ve scored twice... it’s honestly heartbreaking.
In games like this, it really does come down to fine margins. If we’d just put one of those chances away, it’s a completely different story.
Besides what was a collectively disastrous performance yesterday, and Lewis having a nightmare, I actually think the biggest culprit in the loss was Marmoush — as strange as that might sound. He had three clear chances where he simply had to deliver something
Right after him, it has to be Haaland – that header miss was absolutely dreadful.
Lewis went to sleep really for the first. The Spurs winger was a good few yards behind him when Stones slipped yet got there well ahead of Lewis (who also went with the wrong foot IMO). He needs to be more aware of where his man is.

He's well ahead of the Spurs winger after Stones has slipped. He really doesn't bust a gut to get back until after the winger has passed him. Not sure how to post images but these 2 from the Lewis performance thread highlight it:When your playing the ofside trap your more checking to push up to get the player ofside! Once there player went through he did nearly get back to block it! Rather we have a sweeper deeper than the halfway line and not play offside trap train to run with the runners
Clutching at straws. Both teams play on the same pitch. They were stronger. Didn’t play at snails pace. Took their gifts well.trafford needs to think a bit quicker and defence needs to be smarter.too predictable. Haaland needs to work on his heading and link up play.in hindsight maybe pep shouldn’t have changed his starting line up as cherki and marmoush had poor games.RAN’s injury was a block tackle where the ball caught his toe and twisted his foot/ankle complex. Thought he might be able to run it off, but might be a sprain. Let’s hope it’s not ligaments, but I think the flexion was in the opposite direction to a ligament issue.
Current pitches are firm with a damp surface. It’s easy to lose your footing if you’re going one way and try to turn the other way without having your studs firmly planted.
…other than keeping Trafford on the pitch for his handball outside the area, but then missing Bobb’s penalty shout when Van Der Ven stepped on him in the box!
Surprised he was made captain number 1 but amazed Dias was given a new long contract. Something is not right on a lot of levels at the football club on the evidence of yesterday. Hopefully what we saw yesterday was an abberation and the City of a week earlier is closer to reality. Time will tell and quickly. The next home fixture is a tasty little one.
Time period for this?we are a work in progress
I think the players just need to get used to each other
Once they do we will be a great team
Football has moved on and pace is everything at the moment. European and World Champions PSG and Chelsea have blistering pace all over the field. We must address this urgently. We need more pace in the team especially the back four. game after game its the same old story die to lack of recovery pace
