Spurs (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Have to remember that this is only the team's third outing together. Players need to get used to playing with eachother and it'll come, fucking shit performance but it'll improve

Probably already mentioned but that was our youngest starting line up in the league for 15 years.
With hindsight, a tough game against spurs might not have been the best gane to do that in

I don’t want to pick on him as I’m sure he’s feeling like shit already, but how did Trafford beat out Ortega for the starting job when he was signed only three weeks ago? Or was he, for some reason, just handed the job? Either way, he’s looked thoroughly and totally out of his depth in two of three games.

That being said, we have other issues as well, but it’s a long season. On to the next one now.
Yet here you are.

Bad bad day today . Trafford atm is a great second keeper but nowhere near first choice and it showed but he will be better d
For it . How anyone can be happy going into the Season without a right back is crazy and sorry but ruban Dias has no right being in the squad let alone captain as he is so overrated it’s insane . Would like to say it’s a one off but this is goin to get very messy unless we really change our style and grow some bollocks and start getting involved .
I've braced myself for a crazy season of ups and downs. Think there will be plenty games like today's, but equally can see lots of games like Wolves last week. Signing no rb seems madness and agree regarding Dias. Be interesting to see if Pep drops him or Stones once Gvardiol is fit.

Trafford seems to want to take a touch even for a short pass inviting trouble, whilst Ederson can even accurately hit a long ball first touch.
I’ll be hiding my eyes behind my hands every time he gets the ball at his feet. He got away with one before his calamity

Looked like he made the defenders nervous as well

Unless we get a right back preferably with a bit of pace before the window closes we’re fucked. Also if the PSG keeper is available then sign him.

We are a shit team and made no improvements to our already bloated and underwhelming squad.

We’re not shit, but we haven’t improved as much as opportunities allowed over the last couple of years and this reticence to spend like a proper big boy CL club is now biting us on the arse.

Too much sentimentality to players like Bernardo who was once great but never a goal scorer.

Of course he’s available everyone’s known he’s available for 6 weeks

The way we threw everything at them in the second half, forcing save after save while striving to get back into the game was very impressive. Or did I just make that up?
This is fucking Spurs, bottom six almost all last season, and generally shite. More to the point they are quite shite when they come to the Etihad but we rarely give them the hammering they deserve.
"Ooh they're a hoodoo team". Nice fucking excuse lads, but they aren't very good.
They wanted it more and kept it simple. We over complicate everything, and while that may be required against Real Madrid or Bayern, it's not required against Spurs, Southampton, the fucking rags, or any other shite teams we dropped points against last season.
They hammered us 0-4 at home last season. They now have a better manager than they did then too. Trouble is, no one knows if this season's City are going to be any better than last season's version.
I am not encouraged by the club handing out major contract extensions to the likes of Dias and Lewis.
City need to get a lot bigger, a lot faster and be able to successfully play swift, direct football more often.

We won't win anything when we're bringing Bernardo and Doku on, they're just not good enough

Agree. I’ve been saying that all last season too, but most people disagree. We need energy, power and goals from our attackers.

I see Trafford is being hung out to dry by whoppers like Chris Sutton. All adds to the pressure he'll have at every game now. They know what they're doing
Tbf, he's goalkeeping for one of the best football teams in the world.
Whether we, or he, like it or not, that's the territory he parachuted into.
He's gonna have to take the heat.

I don't think your allowed to say that. You'll get called a fanny wipe by some deluded fuckers.
Ll
When Bernardo came on he started in midfield. It was noticeable how slow he was compared to the Spurs players.
Then he moved to the wing where he is no longer effective. Sad to say but he looks done.

Cherki at the moment is an impact sub.

Thought despite being inconsistent Marmoush offered a goal threat and should have scored.

Unlike last week where every chance went in here none did. Rodri has a good opportunity with his head. As did Haaland.

Bobb showed plenty of fight and winning the ball back in the 6 yard box should have led to a goal.
Saw bernado get pushed off the ball with ease then just let his man run off with the ball at half pace bernado just instantly started walking, this after he only just came on !!
I’m fucking fuming at that performance spurs made us look like erm spurs last season.
No fucking way are we winning the league this season, the aura has gone and let’s be honest if wolves had someone who could finish we could have been 2 down last week
Before we even got going.
All this having refreshed the squad with so called quality editions.
Knee jerk? Perhaps but this isn’t the first time we’ve seen this performance of late.
No more excuses if pep doesn’t change his system to match the opponent then it’s top 4 at best.

Optimism gone up in smoke

All this talk of us playing a quicker more in your face game is bollocks, Tottenham out muscled us all over the pitch, I said it last season, whoever are strength and conditioning coaches are they want fucking off.

Could do with some rugby fitness coaches, and some rugby attitude.

Too many soft cunts in our team.
