Spurs (H) Post Match Thread

City centurions were unbelievable along with City side that accumulated 98 points.

But this is our best rounded team isn't it?
I feel this side could be well below par in games but still not concede and still get a win. We look a lot more like a team now ready for two legged ties in Europe.
I totally agree with you.
This is by far the strongest squad to date.
There are literally no weaknesses.
If ever there was a team capable of the quadruple this is it.
6 weeks ago William Hill had us at 55-1
Looking a pretty good investment right now ;-)

Despite the recent scorelines, I don't think we're as good going forwards as we once were.

However, I think we're something else defensively. We were really good at the back in 18/19, but I feel that this team now is less error prone and can defend counter attacks better than that side ever could. Plus the fact that we're more conservative and patient in possession means that we're far more suited to pressing immediately after losing possession.
So you do also think this side is better prepared than previous seasons? Defensively were a different animal than previously especially being vulnerable to counter attacks.

16 straight wins - 1983/84/85 - went to every game home and away - don’t think we won 16 games in total over that period. As for clean sheets - no chance of that cos my girlfriend at the time used to piss the bed

I think we're actually better, or at least more clinical anyway, we were having 25 shots for 3 goals last season, we're certainly more efficient than last season.
Yeah we've definitely been more clinical than ever as of late, but we're not creating chances at the same rate as we used to.

I suspect that's by design though. This is a team built not to be counter attacked.

Sweet 16 wins on the bounce. Put the Cockneys and their horrible manager right in their places.

Led by Gundo, everybody worked hard and played their part in a very satisfying team performance. Not a weak link out there.

jose please don't mug us off ? man city played in mid week also. so extra time of 30 mins with 6 subs should be no problem for any club in the premier league, jose never once give man city credit for the win. bad loser

BBC interview after match by jose

Think Pep is the only top manager who never ever makes any excuses EVER.

Never thought id ever say this question but who drops out of the team for KDB when hes back? Bernardo has been a work horse , Foden and Gundogan insane whos going to be dropped out of the team for KDB.

Big up for Stones.
Today confirmed he really doesn’t need Dias to show how good he is.
I thought he was outstanding today.
Showed real composure and intelligence.
His distribution and range of passing was magnificent.
I will confess to being one of those who had lost faith in the lad but boy oh boy I was wrong.
Well done John Stones.

I'm not even a little bit nationalist, so I don't mean this beyond anything outside of football, but this is his purest English side. Pep was obsessed with second balls and corners and dominating midfield when he arrived, and this this is what this team does. This side can win in snow or spring, and it's so comfortable at 1-0. It's like watching shite The Big Match replays in fucking 4k.
