They're damned if they do and damned if they don't really.It sounds like both the govt and palace have made clear that sporting events can go ahead - and are briefing that they don't want lots of cancellations. I guess, reading the mood, they are worried about being blamed when huge amounts of people would rather just get on with their lives.
PL supposed to be meeting as we speak, apparently postponed till they had guidance, so if they've got explicit permission to go ahead, I'd be surprised if they cancelled.
It's not like a few columnists in the Daily Mail or on GBNews complaining would have any effect on the future of football.
