The sheer level of outright hatred, nastiness, and hyperbole written and broadcast in the media this week is possibly a record for any city manager since the takeover.

It's not even subtle anymore, it's blatant "we are the English media, we embody the English game, and we want this foreign interloper Pep Guardiola to fail at that foreign-owned interloper Manchester City so we can use his failure to further show how these Johnny Foreigner types have no place in our beautiful game that has been so ruined these last 8 years by those Muslim types"

This forum, for all its occasional annoyances, is a safe haven for city fans to let off steam about any number of issues relating to our club. Outside of this place though, we need to be 110% behind the manager, the players, and the club overall.

Loud and proud today. I actually think we'll surprise a few today and beat the shit out of the pretenders from north London but come what may the manager and the players need to know beyond doubt that we are with him until the end.

As frustrating as it is to see us lose and draw games we all feel we should be winning, make no mistake, if we see it through with guardiola we will get our reward eventually. I felt a few times recently he looked like he was ready to pack it in and that pissed me right off, but then he came out firing about the refs which showed me he cared deeply and more recently talk has leaked of him signing an extension which is also encouraging.

If anybody wonders about my volte-face have a read of Robbie-****ing-Savage's column in the mirror today. It's truly the bottom of the barrel.

I've been working in Twickenham drove back last night to Buxton to drive to the game today.
Got to be back at work for 8am in morning.
Git a feEling it's going to be a complete waste of time as we're going to get ducked.
Hope I'm wrong

I think to have any chance of the top 4 we have to win today. Come on city!!!

Big test.
Spurs was the first team this season that beat us and they did it with a tactical masterclass we had no chance in that game, and were lucky to lose only 2-0. Could have been much worse if their finishing would have been like Everton's last week.

Pochettino is a very good manager, he will have a plan for Pep again its up to us to destroy that plan by playing well and certainly differently from how we attack and defend vs bigger teams.

Please dont let Silva taking corners, he might find a City player with the ball once in 100 times but does it worth waste 100 corners for that? As it is opponents prefer to give us a corner than a throw in...

We need a midfield trio otherwise its all fucked up. The strength and pace of Wanyama+Dembele in middle compared to an old Yaya-Zaba duo is a joke. Not mentioning Eriksen would have it easy without much to worry about. Also Alli can be playing centrally turning up all around.

Wanyama was man of the match that game so middle of the pitch is very important again.

Their fullbacks another dangerous part of their team, they are quick and can cross the ball. Tracking back is a must from our wide players. For this reason I can see Pep starting with Navas.

But first of all we have to stop opponents having it easy when they attack us. When we attack its usually up against a wall as they try to make it hard for us to attack. Even Chelsea and Arsenal too defended a lot with 10 men behind the ball being disciplined maybe Spurs will do it at times today too so we need to fucking stop making it easy for opponents to score and attack.
Its hard without a goalkeeper that refuses to save shots on target but Pep wanted him now he can bring in Caballero. But thats just the end, opponents still coming trough our midfield like its the easiest thing and our defenders put themselves in positions that also just makes it easy for attackers. They arent even challenged much when taking shots. Like Wijnaldum making that free header nobody jumping up with him etc.

How rarely we have something like this that we score easy goals? Against us its happening every game and its down to the system Pep is trying to make. Same players in more defensive system with more protection imo would look like the players like their price tags would assume...
But in this system Otamendi isnt a 30m defenders, Stones isnt a 50m defender, and same goes on other end of the itch Sterling isnt a 45m players or Kun doesnt looks a world class star.

Current system is wrong for our players it doesnt hide their weaknesses it actually just gets them punished for them even more while they dont have those type of strengths that could make this system really work.

Rival managers are happy for us dominate possession on our half between Yaya, Kolarov, Stones, Ota passing between each other because if they make a mistake opponents can score from one shot due to Bravo, and they have enough time to reorganize and mark players upfront and park that bus carefully while we do the passing sideaways fucking far from their goal.

Instead of that we should rush, scare them, attack them, rush every counter chance not turning back but sprinting.

Says a lot we cannot do this sideways passing on their half as they close us down, press us and we dont like it boo-hoo. So we lose ball and then our high line defence usually totally out of sync doesnt know what to do.

Tired of these mistakes coming from playing a bad system. It might work with very clever and technical players with high work-rate pressing skills all over the pitch (like Silva, Kun, KDB pressing for 90 minutes lol) and quick, technical players (Kolarov, Zab lol).

Title is gone imo, Chelsea is consistent while we still have CL, Fa Cup. But top4 is in danger big time and games like today will have a big say in it.
You worry far too much.

COME ON CITY

Spurs players doing interviews all week, Eriksen was live on talksport this morning
Pochettino downtalking the size of our club and the media wankfest over how much better off they are than us (3 points..)

All in all, this is spurs. They're a club of losers, who came 3rd in a 2 horse race last year

They have this much envied english spine, which whilst potentially potent, was also the spine of the gutless, pathetic england squad that was abysmally despatched by little Iceland in the summer
They're the same spurs that choked upon arrival at old trafford last month, and they still have the goalkeeper who, however in form, has conceded 6's, 5's and 4's to Aguero and Co. in the past

Tomorrow the crowd should be right up for it, because despite all the media and shitstorm surrounding Pep, we are still the biggest threat to anyone when our backs are against the wall, and we are playing the one side in the country with the very worst habit in the world of football, the experience of losing.
I very much like this. Thank you for that. It's out some lead back in my pencil.

Like most of our games we'll probably know in the first 5 or 10 minutes which City has turned up. If we absolutely batter them from the off, with high pressing and lots of shots, maybe get an early goal, we'll twat them.

If we piss about at the back and allow our defenders and keeper to be closed down, and fuck about walking in midfield then it won't end well.

Play like a proper top team and fucking attack at pace. Bombard their area and have some fucking shots!

playing a team thats bang in form, they havent lost in 4 years and their team has 11 proud Englishmen in it. we on the other hand are in disarray, we havent won in 34 games, and our manager is about to quit because he cant take losing, the players have downed tools, aguero is being sold, and the fans are walking away from the club.

its an easy win today for spurs and i predict a 0-5 win as they march onto yet another league championship title, their 33rd in all.

i fucking hate the press.

When we play like we did at West Ham, we are clearly the best team in the league. When we play like we did at Everton, however, I look at Spurs and think I'd take at least ten of their players, (they can keep Eriksen as we already have plenty of those type!).

Big, strong, powerful, skilful, organised, if they can keep the majority of their team fit I fancy them for the title.

Not going to be their day today, though. This is the wrong day to be playing City, we're going to slaughter the buggers. I'm thinking 5-2

One interesting thing is how over the coming weeks are we going to play Jesus.

Since Negredo left, we've relied on Aguero as the main striker and played around him. Are we going to do that now, with just variations of Sterling, Sane and Jesus out wide, or are we going to go with two central strikers.

There are two themses to City this season:

1) pathetically weak defensive game where almost every counter-attack leads to a goal eg Everton, Chelsea, Leicester and

2) Overwhelming possession where we can totally dominate possession and be unable to find a striker in space. Will Jesus change that? I would say yes, but then you look at Sane, Sterling and Aguero. They all have phenomenal ability to run and beat a man with the ball, and yet we still struggle to break teams down. Adding another pacey tricky forward can only be good, but I am wondering why Sterling and Sane's presence in front line has not had results - perhaps that's not true. Sterling has been one of our best players this season. And maybe we can say Aguero has struggled. And sane has barely played - in part due to injury.

It will be interesting to see whether Gabriel Jesus introduction into the team changes the dynamics of our play.

Will we still go for the slow build up from the back or will we add a bit more direct play because of his pace alongside Aguero, Sterling, Sane etc?

Something definitely needs to change with the speed of our attacking play.

2-1 home win. Sterling wins a penalty which Touré will score, Kane equalises on the counter, Iheanacho with a scrappy winner in the last five minutes. Bravo to make 2 worldie saves. Wanyama sent off.

If our players don't all give 100% after all the shite their manager, their fans and the media have been talking then they deserve a slap.

Expecting something like

Aguero
Sane Silva De Bruyne Sterling
Fernando Toure
Kolarov Kompany Otamendi
Bravo

Personnel may change but as against Chelsea I suspect Pep will want to force back their FB/WB
