Most pulls are minor tears, nearly all tears heal without surgery, in the case of the muscle tearing away from the bone they won't stitch it, they'll use muscle from elsewhere in the body I think. I know for knee injuries the replacement tissue usually comes from your hamstring or arse.As an aside - how does one repair a hamstring? - If it is torn can it be 'stitched' - if it is pulled , rest it for 6 weeks. Then you need to get back up to match fitness. So Stonesy could be February before he is back ?.

I thought Tottenham would be serious contenders for the title this season and with a still-young team, if it stays together, and a new stadium next year they might be more so. I fancy a repeat of the 5-2 or 4-1 tomorrow, though.
