Sounds like sour grapes now but I've said since day one of the season that back to back Premier League wins is more of an achievement than the Champion's League.
Liverpool will lose to Barca. I hope Spurs win the UCL as they are a good team with a good manager and plenty of English players. No hard feelings after last night. Not like last year.
Be good to do the domestic treble and the scousers win nothing again.
Here's hoping...

Last night proved what pace and skill can do to their full backs. Trippier shat himself anytime Razza got the ball and ran at him, same for the dirty little cünt Rose, how he didn’t get a red card for the two feet on KEV is shocking.
We CANNOT play Mahrez, he is too predictable and slows our play down. Have him on the bench, yes, but starting, definitely not. His days here are numbered imo, his work rate etc is far below that of Razza or Bernardo.

If we don’t win this, the derby game will be immaterial in the PL push.

Gundog had a decent game, maybe he should be paired with Ferni ??? Joined by Bernardo and Kev in midfield. If we are comfortably ahead, replace Gundog with Leroy and Move Bernardo to CM.

I’m really hoping the team are still furious at missing out going through last night and want some vengeance of the highest order and to drop them out of the top 4.
It’s up to us to win this, they didn’t really produce anything themselves as we GAVE them the chances to score.
We need to stop this Keystone Cop defending.
Come on Blues, Glory & a place in Football history(which probably won’t be done again) awaits if we win the next 5 games!!!(6 if we include FA Cup)

Even more gutted now that im not going to be there on Saturday. Last night was the best and worst any football fan can go through and I desperately want to be with my fellow blues pushing our boys on to another 3pts!

3-0
Ederson
Danilo, Stones, Otamendi, Mendy
Fernandinho
Sterling, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Sane
Jesus

Muric, Walker, Laporte, Gundogan, D. Silva, Mahrez, Aguero

FFS - Who did Spurs play last game, are they not physically knackered?

Yes, but they won't be able to change as many of their players as the players on their bench are not as good as ours...we can bring in 3/4 as good as the starters and they can't...that gives us the opportunity to freshen things up and keep the same level of quality on the pitch. So let's use that to our advantage.

I think I would. We need players who can open up a team and drive at what I expect will be a sitting defence. KDB is the man for this but he doesn't have a full season's fitness behind him, and can we rely on him for 3 games in 7 days.

I would go with:

---------------Ederson-------
Walker--Stones--Otamendi--Mendy
----------------Danilo
--David Silva---------Foden
--Mahrez-----Jesus-----Sane

Went with the idea of fresh legs. I feel we have to be brave and gamble on winning this game with a rotated side to give us the best chance v Utd in the week after.

KDB, Sterling, Bernardo potential subs.

Alternatively start these guys and sub them off, but that assumes we can take the lead. It may not work out that way and we could end up playing them for another 90 mins.

I maybe over-exaggerating the effect of 3 games in 8 days. We have been preparing for this all season and now we are here.

Totally agree but I took the first line of your post to read differently

The problem I see, real or not, is whether we have the mental resources to go again. SPurs may have smaller playing resources but they don't have to deal with the impact of a massive defeat.

It maybe good to play again so soon. No one knows how the players will react and what the best way to deal with it is. Do we reshuffle the side? We also have to be aware that the players are running low on resources and there are big games to come.

If this was a one off game in the league, or we had won last night I'd be very confident but now we have a huge unknown thrown into the equation. I would say we need a mix of experienced players and fresh legs. And we need to use our subs very well.

Course they have the mental resources. Have you been watching the last seasons, under Pep.
We go again every fucking time we have a set back.

Yes. Remember Christmas and the back to back defeats.

I can't think of anything off the top of my head right now, but generally in football, a dominant side who lose a key game can be shaken by a bad result. So much of football is down to mentality. I know this is a great group of players but this is an extra problem to deal with in this game. If you like you can take it as a slight against the City squad but it wasn't meant that way

I wasn't taking it a a slight. Just that all this amateur psychology does my head in.
Pep will have the players primed and I'm sure they will want to win the league even more.

I've now developed overnight a massive dose of cityitus. Feelings of dread that we're just having the league cup only this season. I've started on the antibiotics.

We need to freshen things up a bit, guys must be shattered physically after last night and we play at 12.30 on Saturday...bloody nonsense.
I'd drop Ederson, been below par for weeks now. I've never understood the love-in with him, it's like he is beyond criticism despite the fact he doesn't actually make many big saves. The first 2 goals he lost to Son over both games were poor. Give Muric a chance.
Bring in Danilo and Otamendi at the back for
Laporte and Walker.
Start Fernandinho in place of Gundogan as he will be fresher.
Have Leroy starting ahead of David Silva
Might even take Jesus over Kun to start....bring Kun on if things are not going as planned.

I have to agree with you about Ederson, i've never understood all the hype about him, he's great playing it out from the back but when it comes to saving shots his attemps sometimes seem a bit halfhearted to say the least.

A bad defeat in a crucial game has the capacity to knock a team off course regardless of motivation and determination.

Two Cup Finals ahead. Win those and I think we will be very well placed to do the Treble.
