Spurs are always a bit of bogey team for us. We usually do quite well at home, but Jose relishes games like this.

I think this will be the game that ends our streak.
Same with Liverpool though, we hadn't won there since 2003 and we battered them. As long as Dias & Stones is on form and we stick to what's worked the past 20-odd games, we'll be fine.

Past 2 games, we conceded stupid goals, Gundogan missed a penalty, Zinchenko got sent off, Lloris had the game of his life and we allowed them to counter. They're in awful form, we should be ok as long as we get an early goal.

I think Stones on his current form could pull off a stint at defensive midfield.
Ed
Walker Dias Laps Joao

if Son and Kane are off their game they are pretty ineffective in attack.

Bale has been a disaster and Mou doesn't trust him.

Last 11 years against Spurs is we’ve won 13 lost 7 drawn 2.
Going back to being a little kid and 81, spurs has always felt like a horrible game for us. Numerous fa cup quater finals in the 90's i think might taint my memory, added to that the last 2 or 3 years and that god forsaken CL QF, just feels like one of those teams we often struggle against and i really can't stand.

Why are you selecting Laporte over Zinchenko?

When will people appreciate that Zin offers this team exactly what Pep needs from it?

His linking into midfield is vital. We don't need an orthodox left back, same as Cancelo is not a right back.

Apart from that, the team is spot on.

I would like to again see Foden go wide right, Sterling on the left and Jesus down the middle.
I like his team. This way we can have Stones, Dias and Laporte against Son and Kane, let Cancelo have a free roll. It seems like a well balanced team against Tottenham.
