We need these guaranteed three-points to end our losing streak.

Do we get to keep you when we win this?

If Spurs decide to play a high line against us then Pep needs to show them videos of our first goal last night and say "do that". Too often I think our players don't get their head up to put Haaland in behind when he makes runs, maybe because we player the possession game more.

Many of Haalands goals for Dortmund were like that. You can't usually get away with a high line against him if his teammates are putting good balls in behind.

Hopefully Spurs do! Postecoglou is a bit mad and had their defence on the halfway line when they only had 8 outfield players on v Chelsea. If he does, we need to use it to our advantage.
Haaland must get so frustrated, its not even 'eye of the needle' passes, Alvarez ignored the most basic of through balls to Haaland vs Lpool, honestly if he can't play those through balls he shouldn't be playing #8, Bernardo is the worst culprit though, we really miss Kdb and Gundogan.

To be fair, as much as I loved Gundo, he was one of the worst for not getting his head up and spotting Haaland making runs, it was something I mentioned time and time again last season.

Can't complain too much, we won a treble haha and I guess it's much easier to spot those runs from the sofa than it is on the pitch, but there's no doubting that ball is on much more than we use it. There is barely a centre back that would match him for pace either ones he's away.

The funny thing is when he signed from Dortmund, some people were doubting he would get as many goals because teams won't play a high line against us, and a lot of his Dortmund goals were actually coming from through balls, so they probably underestimated how good he was around the box because they were used to seeing him running onto balls a lot of the time.

I would definitely like to see us mix it up a little bit in that respect

I used to get annoyed with Gundo too, but he's far better than Bernardo and Alvarez at seeing the through ball.

Id like to see us mix it up too, sometimes we tend to overplay with extra passes or resetting the play from deep. All in all cant complain because the first half of last season I was a big critic of our inverted style and then we won the treble.

Hope we smash the spurs and condem them to their 4th loss in a row. Have never forgot the loss to them in the 1981 FA cup final. Hate them with a passion.
Not forgot that handball they got away with in the Champions league as well.
Me too. Hated the media bollox, Osssie's cup final, chas and Dave, year of the cockeral, year ending in 01 and the usual london media bias. Fuck em then and fuck em now

No Kyle, lol.
Why is it lol? I just think Rico deserves to play and don’t know who else he could fit in for. If stones plays then Kyle plays as stones steps into midfield. I think we struggle without that defender stepping in midfield and I personally don’t think akanji is good enough to do that.

Up against Son and you want to leave our most rapid defender out, I think that’s worthy of a lol.

Ederson
Walker
Stones
Dias
Ake
Rodri
Bernardo
Doku
Foden
Alvarez
Erling

Has to be, right?..

If Spurs play like they have been doing then there'll be plenty of space for Doku, think that would be a better option than Grealish's attributes for this match.

Yeah maybe if you put it that way. Not saying “I want” to leave him out. I just think the team plays better with a defender going into midfield, don’t you think? And akanji isnt the answer. But yeh I see your point about Son. lol ;)

Dias has been great for City, but I'm not sure after last night Pep will select him on Sunday. If Stones is fit, he may go with Ake and John as the cb pairing and if not Ake and Akanji.

Let's go. A few facts before the match against Tottenham, although they may not mean nothing somtimes. Since the 2018/19 season, every time they play against City, they turn into Avengers.

At the beginning of the season, they faced several weaker opponents, which significantly improved all their statistics. However, the match against Chelsea dramatically set back their season, making it difficult to say that the statistics accurately reflect the actual situation on the field

Their record in big matches doesn't show the significant fluctuations that actually happen on the field. They played 2-2 away against Arsenal, even though they could have won. At home against Liverpool, they played 2-1 with two extra players in a match they were more likely to lose than win. Against Chelsea, there was a total collapse from which they are still recovering (hopefully, they won't find their form against us).

Total shots attempted:

City 214 - on target 93 : Conversion rate ; 22%
Spurs 210 - on target 77 Conversion rate ; 17,12%

Key passes / Chances Created

City 173
Spurs 162

Passes Attempted

City 8347 Passes Completed (Opp. Half) 4163 Passes Completed (Own Half) 3411
Spurs 7500 Passes Completed (Opp. Half) 3326 Passes Completed (Own Half) 3314

Spurs facing 13.5 shots per game ( City 7.5 ; We concede too many goals compared to the actual number of shots on target we've had). We both have 4 Clean sheets.

Cmon City

Ederson

Walker
Stones
Akanji
Ake

Rodri
Foden
Bernardo

Doku
Alvarez
Haaland

It's going to be a tough game. Stones is vital to this game, If he's still not available we will find this difficult.
