Spurs thread 2014-2015

Another club who sing "where were you when you were shit" at us, and who's fans regularly claim its impossible to get tickets at WHL, have a half empty stadium tonight, and were singing "your support is fucking shite" at the greeks, who's whole town population could fit inside WHL.

Gobshite fans who think they're a massive club. No bigger than us, no way would they fill 60k stadium if they do move.

Spurs a massive club?

Couple of mates down here in Devon are always telling me how big a club Spurs are, much biger than City in fact they are the biggest club in London with a massive waiting list for the new stadium. I am meeting up with them on Sat to watchWHU v City, so looking for some amo, attendance last night and the cost of tickets, as soon as I enter the pub on Sat it will be COYS and that dirge or a song they sing, need to shut the twats up.

Ask the stupid twats when was the last time they won the league, that usually does it, all they ever go on about is Bill fucking Nicholson and Ricky Villa

Re: Spurs a massive club?

Just say '1-5' or '6-0' or '1-5' (again) or '4-1'.

And if you check the stats, I'm sure the year we were in div 3 we had a higher average attendance than them in the prem. (either that or it was only a couple thousand short)

Re: Spurs a massive club?

Spurs are the 3rd biggest club in London . Only decent record Spurs have is in Europe .
Spurs record in Europe is better than Arsenal .

Re: Spurs a massive club?

I think debates about size of club to be, quite frankly, a waste of time. It doesn't matter and neither can anyone agree on the criteria and the weighting given to the various factors. You usually find that supporters select the criteria that favours the club they support.

As for numbers of fans, I have lived in London for 12 years, and in my experience Arsenal, quite comfortably, have the biggest fanbase.

I am sure Spurs have a sizeable fanbase. However, I don't believe they have a huge waiting list. If they did, surely they wouldn't get such low attendances in cup games. A waiting list means nothing unless those who are on it are willing to stump the cash when they are told they can have a seat.

I'm also sick of this 'who's the bigger club' shite

I don't care if we are the 'smallest club in the werld' with 'no fans' and 'no istry'

So long as we keep winning trophies...in fact...scratch that...even if we don't win trophies

I watched the City Chelsea home game in a pub in Barnstaple as I was working down there that night and had the misfortune to get into a....errr.....debate with a Spurs fan along these lines. I do enjoy these types of encounters. They rarely end badly for me.

When Nasri scored the winner I was the only person in the pub that went up. I wasn't winning any popularity contests that evening that's for sure.

fwiw Spurs have only won the league twice ( to our four) and haven't had a crowd over 40,000 for a generation. Spurs fans always like to point out that this is because of the capacity of their ground, as if the lack of ambition of their club is somehow your fault.
