Levy writing to the government to see if he can have the monies the Dippers have relinquished due to utter embarrassment!

I'm not comparing them to other clubs or other industries for that matter, I'm not interested in what they do. If the 19 other clubs furloughed their non playing staff I would still want my club not to if they were in a position where they didn't need to. It's not hard to understand, they are taking from the tax payer just because they can, the need to it is close to zero.
Spurs make so much profit, and therefore pay so much tax, because they are apparently reluctant to spend said profit on improving their playing squad.

This reluctance may well be at the root of Spurs' struggles on the field over the last 12 months.

It's nothing to brag about or be proud of.

I've been posting on and off on here for years. I get on fine with the majority of regulars even if they disagree with me. I don't troll about City. I defend my club when I believe posts about it to be unfair or inaccurate or at least deserving of the contribution of a different perspective. I'm never abusive. Nor precious when, as sometimes occurs, others are abusive towards me (I get that it comes with the territory of posting on another club's forum). That doesn't mean that I won't stand my ground, though!

Other City fans on here seem to appreciate civilly and good-humouredly discussing Spurs, and a few other wider matters relating to football, with me so.....with my respect to you too.....I'll carry on posting in the manner that I always have until they tell me that I've outstayed my welcome.
Apart from the occasional dig about state-funding from Abu Dhabi.

Maybe Levy, PEG and one or two others at Spurs could take a leaf out of Pep, Ferran and Txiki's book and take a wage cut, so that the club can continue to pay its non-playing employees their full wages?

On second thoughts, nah, what a daft idea.

LOL! Consider me well and truly butthurt. What possible comeback can I have to such a witticism? ;-)

The £3m bonus was paid at the end of the financial year, summer 2019. Not that a little fact like that should get in the way of you calling me out on bullshit, obviously.

Again! I can see that you're too much for me. Oscar Wilde, Winston Churchill and Dorothy Parker all rolled into one....

I said you were like a scouser yesterday your fukin worse.
NO shame at all

Genuinely baffled here....

Fair enough for criticising me for defending my club on this issue. I have no problem with that.

But for the life of me, I cannot work out what has triggered you in the specific post that you quoted. It contained no mention of or reference to the furlough scheme at all. Perhaps you could clarify?

Levy HAS taken a wage cut, along with all the other directors. Pretty sure that he's working overtime trying to get the manager and players to agree to a wage cut too.

I remember once mentioning something about where ADUG's wealth originated a long, long time ago. And even then, it was only intended as a statement of fact, not a dig - even though some (you included?) mistakenly interpreted it thus.

I have always been quite clear that I think it quite wrong that an owner cannot invest in his or her own company; and that I see the G14 clubs (or whatever they call themselves now) as the original and continuing threat to financial fair play.

Is that not a dig?

Nope. Not a dig at all. It was a question. Hence the question mark. ;-)

To recap, BluessinceHydeRoad had written in a conversation about Spurs getting state aid (the furlough scheme):

....not even a word about receiving tax payers money - state aid - after all the hypocritical whingeing they've done about City and state aid

I wasn't aware that anyone, anywhere had been whingeing about City and state aid. I couldn't think what state aid they had received. But then it occurred to me that he might have meant people complaining about City getting state aid from Abu Dhabi. So I asked him if that was the case. That is all.

JimB,
Just out of interest do you go on other football forums trying to defend Spurs as a football club and then end up antagonizing some of the long time supporters of other clubs.
And if you admit to going on other forums (let us know which clubs),do they join in jovial debate with your inane drivel or do they more likely fuck you off and ban you from their forums. I am pretty sure that what you spout on a very tolerant bluemoon forum would get you an instant ban on the likes of Red Issue or RAWK.
All I can say is that you must have a very thick skin, all the hints for you to fuck off just seem to go right over your head.
(You will probably reply in your usual pseudo legal jargon (which DOES go right over my head) so try to reply in plain English which us thick Northern working class lads can understand please).

Actually, this is the only other fans' forum that I post on. Why this one in particular, I've no idea. I guess you are just the unlucky ones, eh?!!

But while I appreciate that you and some others don't welcome my presence here, I think there are plenty who don't mind me that much. Life in an echo chamber is incredibly boring and limiting. I love hearing opposing points of view.

Its not that you aren't welcome(we have quite a few fans of other teams that are popular on here.eg. Shackattack, Bluehammer, Stockportmackem, etc.) but you seem to be turning into a real WUM and are defending the indefensible. I am a firm believer that everybody has their own opinion and free speech is encouraged but you need to take a step back and really look at what you are posting . You are very rapidly turning people against you whereas until recently you didn't even register on their radar. That applies to me particularly.

Your doing a great job trying to defend something that is undifendable
I will leave you with your views and wait for the backlash on your grubby club

Fair enough.
