Spurs thread 2020/21

I saw someone say they're like the Newcastle of the 90's. Wasted all their talent, won't win anything now. Financial trouble around the corner.

Never forget that when footy was first televised it was always Spurs this, and Spurs that, and I can understand it all 'cos they had a fuckin' great team and played the game we way we try to play now, but they haven't hit the shitty fan like we did. I think the problem has never been the managers but further up the food chain.
Do you remember Saint and Greavsie on a Saturday, it was like a Spurs love in. If any Spurs player had a remotely half decent game the previous week it was "Get him in the England side".

Would seem plenty of Tottenham fans think they are getting Rodgers. Would be a sorry proliferation of the 'big 6' diatribe pushed by the media but thankfully, suspect this is just the media getting the Spurs fan something to look and point at.

Very good comparision. Both will most likely have a hometown hero, big English number 9 sacrifising trophies for them as well. The only difference is Newcastle played probably the most entertaining football in the league at the time and had at least one very memorable title-race (which they did fail in spectaculary tbf)

Not sure what Spurs modern golden age will be remembered for. Bending over for Liverpool in a Champions League final they didn't really deserve to be in?
Finishing third in a two-horse race where Leicester won the league pretty comfortably?
