Spurs thread 2020/21

Can’t see Mendes sending his number two coach and transfer conduit there without the promise of a budget to sign more Mendes clients.
I wonder how they are going to fund Nuno’s transfer kitty?…

Spurs have made the same mistake they did with Mourinho. They are a club determined to go backwards I'm sure of it!

When Pocchetino was the manager, their style was fast attacking play. It was great to watch and whilst they blew the league, they got to a CL final and he deserved a lot of credit for that. They were picking up players who could play the way the manager wanted them to play. The club was being well run.

When they refused to back him, they brought in a manager who plays a solid formation which is mainly focussed on not conceding. It was the opposite football to Pocchetino and, no surprise, the players didn't take to it.

They've now picked a manager who took Wolves and made them a solid team who countered. It did well enough for them but was found out. They had some good players, but his system was simple and effective.

Nuno's style doesn't match up with Pocchetino or Mourinho's. As a result, they are likely to end up with unhappy players trying to play a system which doesn't suit them. Let's be honest, if you've had a taste of playing fast, attacking football then anything else is boring. Imagine how Rodri must've felt moving from Athetico to City!

Jesus. spurs spent ages and a lot of money trying to get themselves in with the big boys. A stroke of fortune with the dramatic decline of the likes of arsenal and united helped them establish themselves to at least be in the conversation and then they sacked poch, went with a has been, couldn't attract anybody else and are now announcing the guy who wolves fans thought had took them as far as he could. They've undone an expensive decade in 2 seasons and will now fade into insignificance with anybody decent fleeing. Wonder if there's any spurs fans upbeat with this signing.

Solid manager with experience of the league. His Wolves team was good to watch but he saw better players sold and their replacements did not all meet expectations. Will have his work cut out if Kane leaves, and the length of the contract, two years, suggests to me that the waters ahead might be choppy.
