Spurs thread 2020/21

Nuno Espirito Santo. Probably as good as Spurs could get. If he does I can see him doing well rebuilding them into a top side playing attractive football even if not winning trophies.

Potentially a good move for him. More money, bigger budget, new ground and facilities and a higher profile club.

And Levy to deal with. What fun.

Levy going for cheapest option.

I for one am shocked.

Spurs going back to mid table mediocrity. What a shame...

The events that happened at the "Centenary FA Cup Final" with the Spuds fans are still emblazoned in my memory, I hope they get relegated!!
Me too, throwing bottles at us in the car park they were a fucking disgrace. I believe this led to the crowd trouble at Maine Road it that FA cup game in the early nineties. Lot of ill feeling.

What always baffles me is why Spurs consider themselves one of the so-called "Big Six"
It goes back 60 years to them being the first team in the 20th century to win the double. The gushing from the press lasted about three years and then it was all about how Jimmy Greaves would lead us to World Cup glory in 1966. And the media love-in has been cemented in place ever since, even when they went down for a season in the late 70s.
Then they were involved in the threatened breakaway which led to the Premier League and the media morons were still wanking over their double (now twenty years in the past). And it's just continued from there.
But they've kept relevant to a degree by winning the occasional domestic cup and they've bagged three European pots in total. If the ESL needed six PL clubs then there are five obvious candidates from the past twenty or thirty years. Who else could be the sixth? There might be a few contenders (Everton, Villa etc) but Spurs have probably been more successful than all others over the last 20, 30, 40 years. - And their new ground is bloody impressive.

After tonight's games, there's a real possibility that Spuds are going to slip effortlessly into the new Europa Conference competition. They will be in the company of Slavodownthepan Strongmen (Moldova) and Trybutfail Nohopers (Kazakhstan) and others.

I just thought: a few weeks ago this lot joined a European Super League. Now they're in danger of joining a European losers competition.
They’re in danger of not being in a European competition at all. The Europa Conference might be as good as it gets for them this season.
