Spurs Thread - 2023/24

He was pissed off and the Sky female interviewer didn’t help matters. She persisted in asking inane questions as his mood got darker & darker.

I suspect it was the fact that a very large number of fans and club officials were actually hoping City won the game. Aussies don’t like losing at anything.

Correct, and they have the confidence to air their views with little regard to the ramifications.

I like him.

I wonder what many Spurs fans must feel watching a large contingent of their support cheer on City? What about current Spurs players or prospective Spurs players. We've just seen Ange kick off at the club's mentality, plus a twitter video is circulating of him berating some Tottenham fans. Van der Ven has come out saying he was ashamed of the atmosphere. Not a good look for prospective signings.

I think on the pitch Spurs put up a good effort so they didn't throw that game. But I reckon the actions of many Spurs fans will have tarnished that club and its perception elsewhere for years. Small time indeed.

Still, they've got some NFL games and a Beyonce concert to look forward to at their 'Best Stadium in Europe'. Every cloud.
I wonder what arsenal fans think knowing that most people associate your fan base with the joke that is aftv

For what it's worth the players tried to win, that was a tough game for City but they came through like champions do.

But wow would I be embarrassed to be a fan, not only cheering the opposition but also booing and jeering a clearly dazed opposing keeper who'd nearly had his head kicked off.

I'd like to think we'd never cheer an opponent to stop Spurs winning the league but of course a full scale alien invasion will happen much sooner than Spurs challenging for the league so it's all hypothetical.

Maybe Ange was pissed that the Dippers bottled the league?

I don't dissagree with any of that, however I was kind of putting his fan rant together with his odd statement after the game. Which indicates to me there is possibly a bigger issue at play?

"The foundations are really fragile," the Australian said. "The last 48 hours have shown me that.

"It's inside the club, outside the club. Outside, inside, everywhere. It's been an interesting exercise. It's just my observations, mate."
His post match interview was pathectic full on proper slapped arse mode. For someone who had seemed reasonably intelligent he obviously doesn’t get football rivalries
If Spurs had scored the crowd would have got behind them they didn’t & too be honest apart from 3 chances there was little to cheer for them unless the Aussie prick wanted them to cheer every time one of the players smashed Phil
You do your dirty washing behind closed doors mate!

Anyway, I'm pleased Villa got 4th spot, I can't stand Spurs, Levy or their self entitled fans. Newcastle or Villa are much more deserving of a regular top 6 or 4 place then them.
Really I'd put villa and Newcastle both in the self entitled group can't stand the former after the league cup final and those champs league balloons and chants and as for Newcastle part of the hateful 8 and a myth of a geordie roar
