Spurs Thread - 2023/24

Four losses on the bounce before scraping past Burnley, where was this attitude of his then?
He isn’t the only one to speak up about various goings on at the club. Conte said similar, as did Poch.

Not sure what Ange refers to by inside and outside, as it looks to be the fans who have the weak mentality, but for 3 managers to have things to say. Can’t be a coincidence.

He was pissed off and the Sky female interviewer didn’t help matters. She persisted in asking inane questions as his mood got darker & darker.

I suspect it was the fact that a very large number of fans and club officials were actually hoping City won the game. Aussies don’t like losing at anything.
Club officials?

Correct, and they have the confidence to air their views with little regard to the ramifications.

I like him.

I don't mind one bit him airing his views. In fact I'd agree, I like it. I also don't have an issue with his views, I fully see his point and he has a right to be upset about it.

But being loose with the context, and using it as a deflection, that is not something I have seen him do till now.

Not been paying much attention admittedly, but this was very much absolving himself of responsibility, as opposed to taking it, which is what he is renowned for.

As I said before, had they beaten or drawn against Arsenal, or any other of the 4 teams they played in the last 5 games, he'd have had stronger footing.

Had he even acknowledged that run, while ranting about this the context around this game, he would have had stronger footing.

But as it was, it came across a bit Wenger or Mourinho-esque. Moany. Rather than 'tough love no nonsense' which is the brand he has been trying to build.

Ange is stupid on his comment, you know Spurs fans will not react that in our match if he didn't screw up the previous match especially against Arsenal, if they keep winning especially against their bitter enemy it will not come to this scenario where the fans will takes the happiness they can get even it means seeing your beloved team losing so your bitter enemy will not win a title.

They remind me of Liverpool in the early Klopp days. Good football at times, but way too attacking for their own good

They were lucky our throughballs were off in the first half, otherwise we would have sent Haaland through about 5 times

I think he’s been losing it for a while tbh.

He’s got no substance behind him, talks a great game but he couldn’t motivate the Spurs players for the last 3 months when the fans were giving them full support.

Did fuck all in the cups after resting all his players in them and now he wants to talk about only trophies mattering?

For a manager to be this out of touch with a fanbase is pretty stunning though, and he wouldn’t even accept the journalists warning him, got all gobby at them for even suggesting some Spurs fans would care more about Arsenal not winning and told them to get outside more.

Well they were all outside watching your 60,000 fans laughing and cheering at the end Ange!
Ange was going on about the Spurs players wanting to win the game.

Of course they did. They’re not Spurs fans, with the odd possible exception.

It was the supporters, who might have been in two minds.

Blaming the fans when it was his side, his players & his tactics that failed, yet again, last night.
What a bellend he is
