They've had 1 great manager in their entire history.- Bill Nicholson whoWent for a pint last night with two of the three lads who I went to Spurs with on Friday night. We got talking about Spurs and the usual cliche was trotted out " Spurs are a cup team " I was amazed to learn that they last won the F A cup in 1991, the league cup in 2008. Considering that they last won the league in 1961, how are they considered to be a top team ? Big stadium, based in London ?
Won the double in 1961 with the famous " push and run" style of play
A standout in its time.
They've had 2.. other ,good managers, Terry Venables and Keith Burkinshaw. And that's it basically.
The lilleywhites have very little to crow about down the years.
As a FOC one of my favourite teenage memories was watching MOTD highlights when Arsenal battered them 5nil at the old White Hart Lane,(1979?) when Liam Brady scored an audacious shot from distance with the outside of his left foot, which bent..,Brazilian like... into the top corner of the net, right in front of the arsenal away fans in The Paxton End.
There is very little else to say about spuds in their entire history tbh.
Why one of their ' fans ' would think it a good idea to pop onto BM and start sticking his chest out,I've no idea.
The Cockerel stopped crowing decades ago, imo.
