Spurs were seemingly the team of choice to support during my schooldays.

Really don’t know why to be honest, but at least it’s better than choosing either the dips or rags.

I got into football in the run up to the World Cup in 1966.
Spurs were lauded in the media at the time for being the first team to win the double in the 1900s, the first English team to win a European trophy, and Jimmy Greaves was going to lead us to glory in the World Cup. - And that was it.
Since then loads of teams have won the double, several (including Spurs) have won more than one European trophy and the World Cup was won by England without Greaves.
