So is Mendy jettisoned again then?
I didn't think he played that badly on Saturday.
I worry Sane will leave if Pep keeps leaving him out.
Very strange team selection for a vital match.

This is how I see it. You can’t keep playing the same players, they will just end up breaking down. Some players in that team tonight with a point to prove. I’m fairly confident Delph will step up to the plate, he proved that last season. Mahrez still needs to come good though.
Fabs has ben shite this season,to play him in this game when he hasn't played for ages is mad
Hope i get a 100 alerts after the game saying i was being a drama queen

no injury as of yesterday to bernardo

Rumours are that he’s just put in a transfer request to go to Liverpool as he was upset about our not being able to fill Wembley for the SF and wants to go to a historic club that’s never had that problem.

Agreed, this may be the gamble that delivers all the trophies. Or not.
He’s effectively prioritising Palace and the return leg of this tie. Which all things considered, is wise. If we play at our best in those games, tonight is kind of irrelevant as long as we don’t lose by 3 or 4. For all the talk to the media about how we’re not thinking about the quad, this is Pep revealing that actually, the thought of winning a quad in English football has consumed every fibre of his being.

This team selection makes complete sense... I think (kind of)?!!

Pep wants a close game tonight so Spurs think they have a sniff in the second leg and play all their best players. We then demolish them in the second leg and then use our squad depth to roll them over on the league (where their players will be knackered).

Sorry that is the best I could come up with... :-)

Disappointed to see Mahrez in there ahead of Sane but glad Laporte hasn't been used on the left.

Really hope David Silva can rediscover his magic and produce the goods tonight as we could be lacking that bit of creative spark without either Bernardo or KDB in the team.

This is another example of Pep’s team selection showing that he wants to win every trophy, and is prepared to risk not winning anything at all to get them. He knows the only way it’s possible to win all 4 is to rotate every game. So he is. That might mean we get twatted tonight, but he’s prepared to risk that to go for immortality. Gamble.
Pretty sure you hit the nail on the head. Extremely ballsy move from Pep. Sane must be wondering what hes done though.

And if we win?

What has happened to Mendy ? I just read this morning that he is 100% fit and ready to go.
