Spurs Vs City Post match thread.

The fact of the matter is that it was 1-0 in the 36th minute when Dawson's goal was incorrectly disallowed. It's not like we don't have sufficient proof of the linesman's error. Should have been 1-1 plain and simple. Not even City fans can rightly argue that.

Now up to that point, at 1-1 in the 37th minute (which should have been reality apart from a linesman's error), who on this board would have called our performance dreadful? Extend that to 1-1 at the half and I'll ask the same question.

Momentum was beginning to swing our way, and we all know it doesn't take much for Ade to put one in given the current run of form he's on.

Move to the 2nd half...

50 minutes in and Danny Rose makes an excellent tackle to keep it to 1-0 (reminder.... should've been 1-1 at that point if not for the linesman's error).

Instead of a corner to City, and possibility of a counter, the linesman decides to wave his flag around like an idiot. Now we have HD, slow motion camera's showing the tackle on the ball and not the man. Again, the linesman made an error. Result: Red Card, Danny Rose. We're now down 2 goals and to 10 men against one of the best sides in Europe. Game effectively, over.

Now I say all this to point out the fact that at 50 minutes into the game, we should have been looking at 1-1 and everything to play for.

The fact of the matter is that we were hard done tonight. Terrible linesmen decisions led to a terrible scoreline. It's as simple as that.

His name says it all.

Good fit for sure.

oh dear

If we had 11 men and the penalty and red card wasn't given the game would have been different, you never see the rich oligarch / oil Sheilkh's clubs at the receiving end of these "contentious decisions"

City is a terrible football club. Brilliant team but probably the worst football club of all time. Wasn't that long ago they were in the third division of English football. There was never any project prior to the Sheikh coming in. They were never shooting for the stars like us or Everton. Can't believe I'm saying this but even Chelsea were building something before Roman came in. City will always be a Championship team in my eyes. It doesn't matter how many titles they buy, doesn't matter if they beat us 20-0, doesn't matter if we are in conference and they are on their 20th Champions League in a row, we will always be a better football club than Manchester City.
Ha ha. Class. There speaks the true voice of jealousy. Truth is every other club would love to be in our position

Can someone remind me if I'm wrong, but didn't Spurs have about 10 days between their last game and us? Whilst we had two games in that time?

Sick of hearing all the usual Spuds whining tbh - Adebayor (stamp) and the fucker that put six studs in Silva straight after half time should have gone too. Really they should have been down to nine without any arguments. The disallowed goal was never a free kick in a million years and City were denied a penalty in the first half that was handled FOUR times by the same player and not given. Thought Mariner was an absolute disgrace, he let far too much of their targeted clogging go in the game.

bt sport concentrated on the injustices to spurs , but ignored spurs blatant handball in the 1st half , the fact the free kick leading to the correctly disallowed goal , was not a free kick , the offside goal was glanced on by adebayor therefore offside , danny rose did play the ball , but the new rule states you cannot use excessive force and foul the player after the ball is won.
Referee and linesman got absolutely everything right according to the current laws of the game , we simply played spuds off the park , and respect to tim sherwood for recognising this , refreshing honesty unlike wenger, moyes, rodgers, mourinho, pardew etc all whinging about decisons , when in reality they just cannot live with the current best football team in the world.

Not only that, but he pulled Dzeko's sleeve, dragging him down to the right, and as he slides in he catches the back of Dzeko's right calf. A nailed on penalty

Fantastic Stat.

Great stat from Paul Walsh on FoxTV. No team has scored 11 in home and away against the same team since the 1932/3 season. That was before Hitler was Fuhrer and before Baconface was born.
That might be irrelevant as a stat when we visit Norwich in a couple of weeks.
and the rags at the swamp....and arse at the emirates

The stat ain't right!
We put 11 past Norwich 2 seasons ago!
