Spurs Vs City Post match thread.

It is an absolute privilege & joy to watch this side. Especially considering some of the dross I have witnessed over the years.

It's slightly bitter sweet - to think of fellow Blue family & friends no longer around to share the enjoyment.

To all those jealous bitter fans at other clubs - go fcuk yourselves.

When Alan Hansen describes us as possibly the best team in the world then we must be doing something right

When Alan Hensen said we were mesmeric I thought I was hearing things and had to re-wind!! But Tim Sherwood's remarks were even more meaningful. He was generous in defeat and has gone up in my estimation alongside Roberto Martinez. That makes three managers in the Premiership that have any class, our own being the third.
Moyes? Mourinho? Allardyce? Pulis?

Massive respect to Tim Sherwood not often does a manager tell the truth about a game, again we were just amazing to watch at times.

I just collapsed in fits of laughter there. :-)

I can't believe after last night's game, a lot of the ffocus from professional pundits and press is on how our opponents were robbed, and about decisions that have gone in our favour.
Week after week I notice decisions that go against us and think 'I wonder if that will be in the papers tomorrow as a talking point' will it fuck. But every decision that goes our way, even the ones that are clearly correct, gethighlighted as us being lucky and undeserved winners. We won 5--1 for fuck sake, and spurs were lucky it was only 5. I suspect a little bit of jealousy creeping in.

I saw it on MOTD... 1. I thought the pundits on MOTD and Talksport actually were talking highly of City

2. Adeybadbuy was clearly offside when he scored from the free kick, (how many bar match of the day have said the free kick should not have been awarded anyway) Spuds fans shouting we was robbed should bear this in mind. What sort of gift do they want, a free Kick from nothing and an offside goal ?
3. IMO the red card was harsh (will give them that) but Rose grabbed Dzekos wrist to gain momentum for the challenge, thus pulling him back, so the penalty award was correct.

The penalty debate is fucking ridiculous and Ginola has just been shouted down for saying the right thing. It's a tackle from behind and even though Rose touches the ball his left leg catches the ankle of Dzeko which makes it 100% a penalty.

The offside was so and so, you can see why the linesman gave it. I think you can make a very fair case for saying Adebayor was offside anyway and there was a blatant foul on Zabaleta two seconds before the free-kick for the cross, which wasn't a foul anyway.

Yes, Rose did make contact with the ball first. It didn't change the ball's route and after that, Dzeko was still on for a good shot at goal. Then the contact with Dzeko was made so yes, he denied him a goal scoring opportunity.

Open and shut.

Never liked Sherwood as a player. He was a dirty mouthy little bugger.
However, his conduct yesterday in defeat was exemplary. He refused to bite when being repeatedly baited by an assortment of interviewers and clearly saw the big picture.
"The best team on the planet."
Well that shut them up!

I watched the replay billion times now - and I swear to God only in EPL will that proper penalty be even QUESTIONED...

I find this to be a reason brittish players/teams sometimes struggle in other competitions - "physicality" of the game is so out of proportions that people really believe ANYTHING is allowed as long as you "get to the ball".

Guess what - it isnt. That's a penalty in CL, EC, WC, anywhere...and thank God - it's a pen in EPL too as much as some delusional people woman about it.

Cant go through someone to "get to the ball"...from behind....why am I even bothering?
