Spurs vs City post match

Don't underestimate impact of Champions League.

You play away in the Champions League you are always vulnerable particularly in the next away league game. I said this earlier today, and I am repeating it now after looking at the european results:

Real Madrid drew 1-1 and Barcelona losing 3-2 (were 3-0 down). Beyern drew 1-1. It's very very rare that none of those 3 win (admittedly Barcelona still might)

Spurs and Arse both had Champion League games. Stop making fucking excuses. Even our own manager said we were second best today.

just got back.
ok not brilliant but why all the doom and gloom. its one defeat, an unlucky one at that.

sorry but I have no concerns apart from Pep just needs to think very carefully about each starting 11 we use. he seems to think they can all do the job but in truth some clearly can't. I said i'd like to be there all there abouts at xmas so we can see what we need for January in order to kick on. well we are ahead of that, we are top. nothing to see here.

Unlucky it wasn't three due to Bravo's pen save?

Did I say we weren't 2nd best. Spurs deserved to win. But play it at a different moment I think we'd have done better. Arsenal struggled to be Burnley. Playing intense games in midweek has an impact if you try and reproduce it again 3-4 days later

Right, we'll ask the FA to schedule the game to suit us. Maybe before the Liverpool game we can the FA for a 2 goal start as the Dippers don't have Champions League games.

The eleven who started were good enough, the tactics and application wasn't. It happens, that's football.

Arsenal robbed Burnley stuffy bastards foul goal in last minute, God I hate Arsoles :-)

Unlucky Kolarov was on the pitch.

In all seriousness, while Spurs were the better team,we had some excellent chances too.We looked decent for much of the second half i thought.

The best thing to come from the past seven days is that Pep will now be very aware, like Bill states,of what is needed come January - our strength in depth isn't too clever.

Spurs the better side today in all areas. Hopefully Pep has learnt a few things today. Unfortunately as we all know Zabba's legs are no longer capable of keeping pace with the premiership.....Kolarov again when playing LB showed all the flaws that he did under Pellegrini.

We have had a cracking start under Pep, but this game has imo taught him more about the squad. I saw the team sheet at the start of the game and immediately worried about it looking like a side picked from last season. Fernando is another that cannot seem to fit the premiership requirements that we crave

Still work to be done

own goal. rose staying on the pitch. aguero and others clipping parts of the keeper and bouncing kindly for them. the fa appointing mariner the ****.
Again upmost respect, but others are saying Otemendi lucky to stay on, also is bad play by defence unlucky?

We were outplayed and that had been coming since the pretty average performance at Swansea. Still a great start but still plenty of players who aren't good enough in the squad.

For sure. A game like today really magnifies the weakness at FB's and CM.

Dead right we we're second best today no real compliant's about the result we've now played both Utd and Spurs away they have to come to our place hopefully KDB will be fully fit added to the manager having had a fair bit longer to school his team to his way of thinking.

its funny how the media have jumped all over us and pep picking holes in the team its not like pep been in the premier league for a couple of seasons and not just 7 games and 7 very had games i might say stoke away united away swansea away and spurs away that's 4 away games all very hard games in any season never mind your first 7

we looked of it today but you have to look at the picture in full we was in our 4th straight away game in just under 2 weeks and asking us to go again after the celtic game in just 4 days was a game to to far for me we looked like we wanted to just get home and rest we lost our legs and you have to give spurs credit but they was the home team and the fans help and we just could not hold out and get a foot in the game

pep we will learn more today then the 6 wins and maybe the english league is harder and takes more out of players then in other leagues and the games we played in 3 weeks is shocking i think its 7 games in just over 3 weeks and its hard work fighting when no teams give you anything you have to win games in england and nobody rolls over

4 away games on the bounce can affect the players,no proper training, play travel play travel on and on ,if I was being honest I was hoping for a draw before kick off.
Excellent point, I have been involved with human behaviour for sometime we are not like electric switch you can turn off and on, people including sportsmen can react to their surroundings

Me too. Look at this weekends results. league leaders in the 3 top leagues in Europe all got beat. Playing away in the Champions league, and then away in the league is a vulnerable time. Happens time and time again. Doesn't mean you will lose, but makes it more difficult.
