Spurs vs City post match

They are only a point behind us which tells you a lot considering this is our first loss. They were just better on the day

Stones was excellent.

Too many bad players still in the side. Baffled as to why we didn't move them on in the summer.

Even game apart from Spurs generally tackled with some purpose whereas we were half-hearted.

Stupid OG at a stupid time didn't help.

Lost out badly physically. Fernando in the side disrupted everything imo his lack of pace and ability meant he was a passenger. Kolorov remains a liability. He cost us against Celtic and he cost us today. But in fairness Spurs didn't play terrific football they just out battled us. I don't care what anyone says either we need a fit vk next to stones. Not a lot went out way today but a mistake like kolorovs in a game that big is unforgivable for me, it set a tone of panic and gave Spurs a massive lift.

Pep started the wrong team. Fernando can't start in a game like this. I'd rather have Pep start Aleix Garcia than Fernando. Zaba has 0 pace and Pep started him to go against Son!? What the hell? Navas offers absolutely nothing going forward, should've taken a chance with Sane. Should've had Clichy over Kolarov in big games as well.

They were the better team for most of the match, deserved the win. We just didn't get going until the second half when it was too late, think it's clear we still are lacking in certain positions & lack depth in other positions.

Need new fullbacks next season, and a better back up than Fernando in midfield. Navas will be out, with the youngsters coming in.

We were always going to struggle this season against teams like Spurs, Arsenal & Liverpool; we're still building this new style & haven't got our final personnel in yet, we've managed against teams that aren't so strong but struggled against teams of quality or who've pressed correctly, and I expect us to do so again in our rematch & against Liverpool/Arsenal - hopefully we can learn from this & adapt to get results though.

and thats why fullbacks should have been at the top of our shopping list over the summer....think the set up from the start was wrong, against a very quick spurs team with fullbacks that like to push up field....Kolarov and Zab just cant do it when put under pressure and sadly spurs played a perfect game. Thats 2 games now, where we've looked over-run in midfield and weak at the back.....oh well, need to put this game behind us...
