Squad Numbers - 2012/13

Most won't change since they get attached to numbers. Seem to recall in an interview joe said he will always stay at 25. He stared at 25 and doesn't intended to fix something that isn't broken.

I think it's weird having the number 1,3,8 and 9 shirts vacant. But I suppose its not the be all and end all.

I can see Hart going back to number 1 and Nasri getting the number 8 (I think Wright Phillips had it when Nasri joined.) And possibly Clichy becoming number 3? But like others have said, number 45 is Mario's favourite number so he won't be changing i don't think.

Technically, 3 and 9 aren't free, as Wayne Bridge and Emmanuel Adebayour are still City players.

Can't see either even being given a squad number tbh.

Wasn't Ned when Vinny got 4 ?

Ned spent his last season on loan without having any squad number for City at all as far as I'm aware

True. And Johnno was on loan at Leicester when JL was given 6.

So that defeats my arguement, eh?

Traditionally numbers are important, especially for us older folk... personally I like the centre forwards no 9 shirt and would love to see Dzeko wearing it next season.

Keep the high numbers , there's a fortune to be made on spread-betting sites.
For those who don't know, these sites offer bets on goals scored by shirt numbers. They guess what the total might be , say 27 if they think we may thrash a team. A 4 - 0 win with a hat- trick for Balo and one for Yaya (45 X 3 = 135 + 42 = 177). A £1 stake risks losing £27 but with the above (probable) outcome would win you £177, bring it on. Just get your bets on as soon as the team is announced.
Keep the high numbers ( and give RVP 99!). ;-)

Just went to get the new home shirt with printing and on the OS shop, Nasri has changed down to 8. No other changes I can see but just warning encase anybody else went to get Nasri with a 19 on it.
