This is the thing that winds me up the most. Not that his club and the FA back him up, but that they back him up without the any idea of what happened that night apart from his word. Do you imagine either of them have questioned the VICTIM? It sets a shocking standard for the kids of this country, it really does. FAIR PLAY the FA say....yeah, my arse. It almost says, that if you earn well, then you deserve the backing of everyone in society. Mind you, that seems to be the standard that this government has set, so you have to accept it as verbatim these days. It is pathetic though, the top of the tree get looked after, and the workshy, dole sucking twats in this country get looked after, but the hard working in the middle get treated like total fucking mugs. I fear for this country, I really do. That said, we roll over and accept everything that this "socialist" government throw at us, so perhaps we deserve what we get. Happy "Holidays".

You are an absolute bastion for all that is good and decent you are. Perhaps most of us will wait and see what the jury thinks first eh? I am still a strong believer in innocent until proven guilty, but this lad has form, and if acquitted in a fair jury trial, yes I agree. But I doubt that will be the case will it? I guess the VICTIM doesn't have the luxury of the best legal minds in the world eh?

What you on about? The middle have always done okay, with their allowances. Keeping child benefit universal was another pandering to the middle. Professional middle class, earning well over 20 k a year, claiming child benefit. How many middle class kids get to spend that as their pocket money? The rest of us are buying the kids clothes and food with the monthly benefit.
 
Back to the original post, Gerrard innocent until proved otherwise! As for the political debate, how many people do you know that are seriously affected by the current financial problems? I know two, both have half million pound mortgages and even someone from Huyton could have predicted they'll struggle!
