Lot of issues to sort out - transport, parking, the bridge and walkway. Concourses were jammed my mate said but am sure other clubs such as yourselves and Spurs had similar issues initially. It's a massive leap forward from Goodison and Walton and there's no going back now.

Ticketing is an issue at City. I didn't notice it when we moved from Maine Rd but every season prices went up and now we are more expensive than Man Utd on a match-day basis. My seat on a match-day is between £61-£73. I've always had a season ticket but City haven't sold any for about 5 years and there is a feeling that the club want match-day fans rather than season-ticket holders because they generate more match-day revenue. That tactic might collapse due to the form of the team. It's one thing going to the game and paying £70 when you are playing for the title, and another when you are an also ran and the tension is not there.

The other problem is probably a national problem in that for a midweek game it's very difficult to get to the game by train because the last train to London is about 8.15pm. Meanwhile car parking is restricted as the Council is trying to reduce car travel in Manchester. This means that lots of out of town blues do not go to the midweek games. Lots of locals go in their place but the atmosphere is dead in those games because the new fans don't know the songs and the old fans appetite has gone.

Tram travel creates some complaints at City but apart from that and the national train network I don't think transport is an issue because the ground is 25 minute walk from the main-line train station.

I have been watching your new ground take shape and I think it's brilliant. I don't know how that will effect Everton. Will it make the away team play better because it is a nice place to play or will it inspire Everton fans. Spurs aren't doing that well at their stadium.

Looks like they're going to have a lot of teething problems to sort out at Everton's new ground. How did no one spot in the last 4 years since the groundwork began (never mind the planning) years that that bridge wasn't able to handle the weight of x people on it?

Anfield is a mismash of stands. Not in anyway symetrical ( bit like Maine rd was). And personally think it looks dated and not exactly an icon of the prem league.

Me too. Same old same old with the internal fittings and they’ve ruined the ‘Blue Wall’ stand by literally having a wall running right across the middle of it! Also 52k is nowhere near big enough for a new build. They’ve added 13k on from Goodison at what expense?
It looks great from the outside though.

Same. It looks good from the outside from a distance, get closer to it though and it has no interaction with the streetscape. No windows, no facilities open on a non-matchday, just turnstiles that are locked.

It could have, and should have been so much more.

By far the best looking PL stadium externally and with a great backdrop.

The bowl might look a bit generic to some but it’s carefully designed so that the stands are close to the pitch and are much steeper than those you’d find at stadiums like the Etihad or Emirates - it should lead to a better atmosphere.

By far the best looking PL stadium externally and with a great backdrop.

The bowl might look a bit generic to some but it’s carefully designed so that the stands are close to the pitch and are much steeper than those you’d find at stadiums like the Etihad or Emirates - it should lead to a better atmosphere.

The design looks good, but as I say, it has not street level interaction.
It’s just a brick wall with metal doors where the turnstiles are.

Rumoured leaked new stand at Villa. The original plans would have seen the current stand demolished but this new configuration would see the current stand stay open.

The purple would be the expanded sections.

- Lower tier re-laid with increased capacity
- One row of boxes would be removed to aid capacity increase
- Remaining row of boxes would be turned into a premium seating offering
- Upper tier expanded in all directions

When Limak analyzed the structure supporting the three stands—currently there are only two, as the third was completely destroyed— they concluded that the best course of action would be to demolish everything and rebuild the stadium from scratch.

Limak's subcontracted workers are working tirelessly to improve the first tier. The second tier cannot be altered too much, as it is a protected heritage site, but it has also been repaired due to its poor condition.

The appalling condition of the first and second tier is the reason why the return to the stadium is taking so long. Because new incidents arise almost daily. And this is the real reason why Limak isn't being challenged for penalties. The club believes that, given the poor condition of the first and second tier, and the work that needs to be done to reinforce them, it cannot claim for the delays.

I’m not sure I’d be happy with that if I was a Newcastle fan. The capacity isn’t being increased that much and the main increase is actually through hospitality, which could kill the atmosphere
