Stadium expansion, any news?

I'd rather we sold out our current stadium size every week before we start developing it, I don't see the point. Bugs me how many people leave before the end too...

Maybe that's just me.

and me.

it would be nice to have three levels all the way round but we need to consistently fill the ground and have a ten year waiting list

To be fair the two league games so far have been sold out for City fans and i am sure if we had put the Wigan fans in the top tier of the away area of South Stand and we had the bottom without segregation we would have sold out and had a stadium record crowd however the madness of slowish ticket sales for the Champions League against Napoli bafles me.

It's going to happen but not until the Analine stuff's done. In another 5 years or so by which time it's likely we'd have won a few more trophies, attracted a legion of new/lapsed fans and basically built the best team in Europe. Then and only then will we need to have a stadium bigger than what we have now.

There was an extensive thread about this not so long ago. There were some truly insightful, wonderful posts by some very informed and educated blues. Everything from size, cost, building plans, permits, rules and laws, layout and look, closing of stands and so on were covered.

I for one can't be arsed to look back to find the link for that thread (if indeed it still exists that is), but if someone/anyone has enough time to waste then it might answer the OP's and others' questions/queries.

We dont need it, and won't get it yet.

There is a light said:
We need a retractable third tier for all of the casual fans who go to a weekend match but can't be arsed with the likes of the Champions League.
How about a series of zeppelins above the north and south stands? They could hover there at the weekends, with the occasional fans dangling below, then be deflated for Champions League games. If only 5 fans turn up, they could dangle below one zeppelin, instead of the whole fleet having to be inflated. Saves building a whole new tier and leaving it with empty seats.

If we only played league games, we'd probably be ready for a 50,000-55,000 seat stadium. Unfortunately our fanbase doesn't seem interested in the domestic cups at all, while we won't know for sure about Champions League until Wednesday but sales are so unimpressive that they're having to fake the third tier being sold out online to try and sell out the second tier.
