Stadium expansion, any news?

Now the cup buy schemes are in and the fact the new loyalty system makes it difficult for people who don't have season cards to accumilate points required for away games, i think both these aspects will mean we sell out nearly every weekend game this year.

There are plans, but for the future..The powers that be don´t think we need an expansion until our fanbase is much bigger.

I think we will be back to Maine Road shortages of tickets by the end of the season. We keep playing football like this and we might end up being able to fill 80k a week. Sure many of them will be fair weather supporters, also imagine what we are capable of once this recession finally blows over.

Just do what the plans are, before we moved a tier behind both goals will raise the crowd to 60k and that will do for the next 20 years

An extra tier at each end will only add around 3000. I think currently each end only holds 6k each.

If we sellout games that means the stadium is already too small. Two home games already and we've sold out both. It doesn't matter if it's ten games or 25 sell-outs a season, it means we're missing out on making more money by selling more tickets and getting more income on the matchday.

Barcelona average about 20000 fewer than their capacity. The Milan clubs average about 35000 fewer than their capacity. But when they want to fill it, they can.

I seriously couldn't give a flying fuck if we had 8000 empty seats for games like today, even 25000 empty seats for domestic cup games; if we had a 65000 stadium and filled it 20 times a season in the variety of comps it'd be great and very good for business!

Good point that about the Milan clubs and empty seats in the San Siro, i think someone put last years average attendances up at 59 Inter and 53 A.C this was way up on previous years with AC winning the Scudeto and Inter the Champions league, perviously Inter tended to average over the last few years just over 50 and A.C mid 40s like ourselves and both in an 80000 capacity stadium so tons and tons of empties are visible when the play at home and they only really fill it for derby games and big European games.

The third tier is massive in height isn't it about 32 rows deep The second tier is about 300 seats long so even without the filling in of the bits that swoop down before the Legends posh seats. So doing both ends would add 20000, add another 4 to bring the whole of Level 3 to 32 rows and the capacity goes to about 72000!!!! \that would be scary.

Milans Stadium was built for Italia 90 not the club sides.
But they get 87000 when they need to. Barca get 93000 wen they need to. They get nowhere near that a lot of the time but in doing it, even just ten times a season, that's ten times where a huge amount of money is made ontop of what they usually get on their average gates.

And I'm not saying let's build a 90k stad, but 65000 at competitive prices and if we sell out twelve Prem games, three-six CL games and one domestic cup game a season - even if our average attendance is 55000 - we'll make LOADS more money than we currently do.
