Dont think there was any 'replacement' involved. Someone at the time said they'd just bolted on a few blue plastic seats and stuck 2 rows of boxes on the top.

it was a replacement, old structure completely demolished.

however the new stand should have been built a lot lot bigger

I don't know about 'bigger'? It was enormous. It just didn't have many seats in it. It was a typical Swales cock-up as was the Platt Lane Stand.

Both were designed badly and had far too few seats for structures of that size. Probably too much emphasis on executive boxes.

I think that the top tier of the Kippax only had two rows of seats.
