Stadium Turnstile Upgrades

The amount of people who commit terrorism and are known to the police and authorities and walk free amongst us is breathtaking.

These cameras can't stop them because they don't care if someone sees them do it, it's purely expeditious so they can get money of us faster.

Look at a burger?

It's yours sir, have a nice day :)
Have you been drinking ;)

It will be definitely, but if its quicker to get in, a safer aspect ie terrorism etc, what's the problem ?
Only downside is if it means you can't add friends & family ?
Maybe you will be able toadd F&F, sure its tech possible.

If not our attendances are going to drop when its eventually put in place.

There's quite few videos showing facial recognition turnstiles, but most are the low turnstiles.

This is a full height turnstile.

The video shows the turnstile opening for a person who has had his face scanned previously, and the turnstile not opening for a person who hasn't had his faced scanned previously.

The picture of the new turnstiles enlarged. I can't enlarge the picture anymore otherwise the picture gets blurred. When we find out the name of the turnstile manufacturer, we can get some more details on the turnstiles City are installing.

So the fear on here is that the club are secretly plotting to monitor the faces of every seasoncard holder, at every game, with people refused entry due to their face not being recognised, while non sc ticket holders are allowed in?? Will we have to take our sunglasses off and stand patiently at the gate for 2 minutes while the system works like it currently does at the multi million pound systems airports use? What time should we arrive at the ground do we think?

What purpose would this serve other than eventually ousting most of the regular fanbase who might pass on their SC for a game or two every season? And will we have to supply a doctors note in the event of serious illness??

I accept that the powers that be at the club can be massive cunts when it comes to tickets and fans but is this a bit like theorising that the US government flew planes into the World Trade Center?

It’s for City employees for next season. The Club should have their pics.
Well yes exactly - is it not more likely the club are implementing this to make things slicker for their own employees to access parts of the ground, as opposed to having a secret plan to alienate and restrict 75% of the people who attend every game.

Facial recognition entry might work for certain cultures eg NFL where people go for the whole day or at least hours before kickoff but it doesn’t seem workable to me at football where many if not most turn up less than an hour before. And that’s not to mention running the risk of such a complicated system failing with thousands locked out.

It’s possibly inevitable in ten years time maybe but City would be potentially processing around 30-40k faces in the hour before kickoff and that’s assuming the rest of the crowd have already gone into the ground. The database of match goers could be huge if you factor in non SC tickets,

Not sure any current airport systems can manage anywhere near that per hour.

If the shiny new turnstiles result in zero queues on the first game next season I retract all the above, hang my head in shame and will accept a ban from this forum
