Stadium Turnstile Upgrades

Yea right
“ so that some staff can display their accreditation but the cameras will not be in operation on a matchday for fans as they enter the stadium”.
It will be interesting to see if you can get in, with a cap or hood, and not looking at the camera. Presumably no problem if they are not turned on, guess we will see.

I'm suspicious but it also takes too long to get in currently. You have to find the right spot for NFC to work, which can take a two or three seconds, or shove the bar code into the reader. It's rare, when I'm waiting to scan my ticket that there isn't some hold-up 10-15 seconds or more with a steward having to intervene to help the person get in.

I'm guessing that for the new access system you'll hold a bar or QR code up to the reader. Even if that knocks a couple of seconds off the average time to access the stadium, it'll be worth it.

What they say it will be like when they scan your face.

The reality however will come as a bit of a fucking surprise :)

I chuckled at that bit too. Really are patronising at times in how they word information to us.

Those cameras must be real clever though mustn't they?!!! Distinguishing staff from fans before they even get to the turnstiles. Maybe they operate on scent first?!!

Take us for idiots.

They can spot a car number plate from space but ALL murders are committed in the view of cameras from 1970 on high exposure :)

Struggling to get how this will speed up entry
The bottle neck is being scanned (no issue if this prevents a tragedy) but to be told sticking your phone on a camera as opposed to a scanner is going to change you match day experience is bollocks
I enter via M1 arguably the busiest entry point and there is never an issue once you clear the security scanning. But the queues to get scanned are horrendous

They can't spot mine as it's been in the garage over a week :(.

Maybe they'll cross reference the data with Asda and ban people that are eating in there before the game instead of spending money in the concessions.

Maybe they will have a partnership with ASDA so that if anyone misbehaves in ASDA then they will not be allowed entry to the match and vice versa.

They really are watching us mate :)

Yup, our passes on our phones are so advanced that they will just tap and go ... and staff's credential are paper cards printed hanging around their necks that they need to "show" to a camera to get access ... they can't have NFCs or digital cards/fobs or anything like that.

Does anyone know if any other club use this type of entry? It is obviously not just for staff and the future seasons look as though facial recognition will be used to stop friends or family using your ticket if you are unable to attend through illness etc. If so another barrier put in place between the club and fans.
