Stan Collymore

Unplayable on his day, mainly at Forest and he absolutely destroyed us in his prime. With the right manager and team one of the most gifted forwards I've ever had the pleasure of watching play the game.
Not the first to make a big move and not succeed..
To move from Southend (?) to be part of the best forest side post Clough was a real achievement...Liverpool was a different kettle of fish.
Got a lot of time for the player..maybe not the person.
On one of my rare visits to Maine Road in those days, I saw a 3-3 draw against Forest.

Collymoron was brilliant, and scored twice

On his day, he was a fantastic striker, but as a person, he leaves more than a bit to be desired.

Remember that game very well.
All week, the word was Collymore and Brian Roy would miss the game through injury..
Imagine my surprise when from my seat in the North Stand when the two players trotted out one after another from the players tunnel for k.o!

Within minutes City had left Collymore unmarked on the halfway line and he broke at speed with that long striding gait of his to score.1nil forest
Ended up 3-3 , forest scoring in the last min through Ian Woan, sparking a tiny pitch invasion from forest fans...not a great memory.

I never got the hype. I always thought he was a good and extremely gifted player, but he seemed to go missing a lot. On his day he was great, but I just think there were too many games when he was lacklustre and seemed disinterested.

But he's definitely a cnut.

I was in the Platt Lane stand; right behind the goal, so I had a great view of Woan's goal.

I’m sure you had the same feeling of deflation as I did at such a late equaliser.

My bro (Southend fan) said he used to hate him
But since he’s come down the club apparently comes across really well, chats with all fans for a long time after games, helps out with fundraising projects and doing all he can to keep the club alive

I know a lad who claims he used to knock about with Collymore when he played for Southend. He says he was a great bloke and they used to have some good nights out. I asked if he meant dogging in carparks, but he said it was mostly bars & nightclubs.
