He would make a simply magnificent stand leader, as would his furry friend...

Disagree
Our stadium has the worst atmosphere of any top club in the Premier League so far this season and has become the butt of jokes, the same sort of jokes we've made about the swamp for years. It used to have one of the best of the top clubs, but a big chunk of our fans seem to have lost their passion since we won the league.
FWIW, I sit in Block 107 and at weekend, this guy stood up out of nowhere and at the top of his voice sang "We're not really here!" and an unusually high number of people in the often quiet 107 joined in. All it took was one brave guy in the sullen silence to get people to join in. If there was someone like that in every block, I wouldn't complain. The Family Stand could benefit, especially.

I disagree, people will sing when others sing around them. It only needs a small group to keep something going and others will join in.
I don't know where some of you are getting this idea that the stand leader will be at the front of the block? Surely they'll have to be in their usual seat like the rest of us!

My point is that regardless of the designated stand leader you are always going to get one or two guys around you starting songs off, some keep going, some fizzle out. You don't need a specific person to start a song off!!
So what if this stand leader can't go one week? Do we appoint an assistant? Or will we just have to have a poor atmosphere that week.
It's really rather embarrassing. Nearly as bad as the incredibly cringy pre match quiz. Guy on the pitch last week could only name 5 ex City players.
