Our multi million pound team giving Barnsley a tuning is nothing to crow about.When we start doing it where it counts, in the Champions league, thats when you know how good you are. Lets give our youth players an opportunity to shine in the lesser cup competitions..... or what's the point having a youth set up at all.They should form part of the SOUL of our club and we should be championing them not undermining them.How come the youngsters who come through in other premier league clubs can cut it when our boys supposedly can't.Its all about opportunity, confidence and someone having trust in your ability and willing to accept that you will inevitably make some mistakes on the bigger stage.Isn' t that how we all learn anything.There appears to be some kind of inverted snobbery that has crept into our club, since the millions rolled in,as if it is now beneath us to trial youngsters in a competitive first team game for fear of upsetting some hierarchy, monetary or otherwise.Lets get back to our roots,ditch a few mercenaries and give local youth a chance.
