Sterling and Pogba are my definites. Both Young, both available, and both pretty good at what they do. Schweinsteiger is a little older than I like. But he is a fantastic ball player. In my mind the 3rd CM should be Fernandinho future replacement.

Unless sterling is the midfielder, then I have no idea who that X might be. A striker that can play wide? Lacazette? Dybala? Messi ( :) )?

Well fernandinho's future replacement in a holding role will be different than what his actual type is (box to box). Have a feeling it might be Barkley though :(.

We were linked with Hector Herrera a while back. Any opinions on him?

That front 6 would be very difficult to deal with for opponents as 1 minute Kovacic would be the DLP with Silva drifting in and Koke drifting out, the next minute Koke is picking the ball up off the CB's and Kovacic is in the 10. Aguero drops deep and Sterling and Pogba run in behind. Silva, Koke, Kovacic, Pogba, Sterling are all capable of playing the number 10 role and during the 90 mins they all could. It'd take some coaching but it'd be a nightmare to deal with. A modern adaptation of Total football.
